The old newspaper article from 1916 is really cool! ❤😊 In America, we’d never get away with using copper pipes for electrical wires, because copper is conductive! So if a live wire happens to touch that pipe, and then YOU touch that pipe, ZAP!⚡️ Just a word of caution for ya with that. Love you guys and great job, it’s almost all done! 😁💚

Claire great job on the beams in the snug. They look great. I’m in Denver Colorado and we had a pub called the snug and I was told the snug referred to pubs where the windows were high so people couldn’t see who was in there like the nuns are the fathers who were having a bit, so I assume you just like cozy living room but I hadn’t heard it use that way before and happy anniversary. Ah sure Rob, you can take a photo of the other side of the newspaper and anyone with a few Photoshop skills and reproduce it to print similar to the front and you can hang them side by side. It would be interesting to see from the ads what things cost in 1919! On a more serious note, it's amazing the imperial gibberish that the Irish were fed on at the time. If you wanted to see the context the pages came from you might check with the local museums that might have copies of the paper from that time. I know you have loads of spare time, so no excuse.

I dont know if that link works. But her shop was just before the cross at Toormore where the road splits for Schull and Bantry (when coming from Goleen). A traditional Irish grocery and general stores. She was a bit before my time but I remember when the shop was open. It shut in about the 1980s.
