I know of a real life story. Nenek jiran saya. Mak mertua ini simpan Toyol. Semua menantu yang dia benci tiba tiba sakit. Mysterious illness that can't be explained. Ada yang meninggal juga. Yang kurang malang cerai aja. Bila tiba masa untuk orang tua ini meninggal susah nak pergi sebab perlu cari orang lain gantinya, membela Toyol itu.

That sounds scary. It is something that I could not imagine going through. And, to think that all the menantu have to go through it. In the end, it is a suffering before you pass away and burdens the family as to get rid of if not to continue being in a pact with the entity.

Actually nak tanya a few questions: (1) The couple solat tak at the first place? (2) If mak dia dah kata dia percaya bomoh lebih dari Allah Ta'ala, si anak wajib nasihatkan mak dia. If she refuse he wajib separate himself from his mom sebab mak dia dah murtad. There is no more relationship between him and his mom sebab murtad.

For the first question, we don't know if they do or don't. To your second question, I agree that if the mother dah menyimpang, then it will lead to syirik. It is not in our position to declare someone a murtad. But for a son, even in whatever condition the mother is, the relationship still holds and his responsibility to berkhidmat to the mother still stands. Like what you say, he has to nasihatkan mak dia and not to give up.
