Thanks good vid, if I already own the p4rtk would you recommend the SDK remote to unlock additional features as the smart controller is limited to GSRTK. Thanks

Agree, SDK remote is the way to go for P4RTK!

Do you need any GCP at all if rtk is used with mavic e3 rtk?
@HammerMissions Жыл бұрын
Not strictly needed but good to have 1) as a fallback mechanism in case RTK signal is weak 2) to cross check accuracy against RTK. The key determiner is the reliability of the RTK signal on site.

@@HammerMissions so gps measure pole is also needed to verify gcp's?
@HammerMissions Жыл бұрын
@@johandegreef3846 Yes, unless the GCPs have known coordinates (were previously surveyed), you'll need a base station to record this positions. Here's more on all systems: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZqcepp6m6x7oKM

Honestly, I still use the same GCP and CP layouts as I did before getting RTK. Without them it just isn't as tight especially on the vertical in the check shots. Most of my mapping in photogrammetry is to look at grading on active construction sites. IMHO, if you are going for accuracy, in the deliverable there is no short cut. Likewise, I GCP my Lidar pretty hard too. It makes the surveyors and engineers I am flying for warm and fuzzy. Just my two cents.

Sensor size comparison is a bit messy. Firstly, Mavic 3 has just 4/3 sensor, but not micro 4/3. Micro 4/3 is a system with changeable lenses. Then you say M3E has a wider angle lens, which is incorrect. They both have 24mm FOV.

Hi there, thanks for your feedback! Sorry, to be more precise, we should've said 4/3 sensor, not Micro 4/3, and by wide lens, we are referring to the wide camera. We will add annotations to the video to clarify this. Thanks for the feedback!

First test of the Mavic 3 E is a bit disappointing. I get .02-.06 RMSE in Pix4D reports with the Phantom 4 RTK. Mavic 3 just gave me .118 RMSE. The horizontal looks good, the vertical seems to be the source of all of the error. I suspect it will be fine for creating orthomosaics but I'm not optimistic about point cloud accuracy. Obviously I need to do a lot more testing but right now I'm just trying to find the smallest remote ID module possible so we can keep using the Phantom 4 RTKs. I don't know why DJI didn't give us a better camera on this unit and WHY did the RTK get worse? It's the same RTK base.

Costs 2 new P4RTKs (and spare batteries) can be purchased for the cost of one M3E or buy a P4RTK and a base station for same price. 20Mp cameras on both so I don't understand the comments that data quality is better with the M3E.

M3e has a 1 inch newer sensor as opposed to a micro 4/3 sensor on the phantom. The interval rate is faster with the mavic and it can pretty much finish the same amount of work in half the time.

FLYABILITY is easily adjustable in the controller 😊

Sorry, Your time factor is wrong. The M3E can map at twice the speed of the Phantom series which is a big time saver. 🧭

Hi Johnny, we are referring to the shutter speed of the M3E - which is indeed 0.7s as mentioned in the video😊 Here's why shutter speed matters for mapping speed: www.hammermissions.com/post/how-to-calculate-the-optimal-flight-speed-in-drone-missions
