Good job good filter but when Oscars get big will need to add another one

Plenty of biological filtration in here. These Oscars are living there best life

Thank you Heap, 4L seachem matrix would be more than enough for the tank. Will add an internal powerhead filter later on for extra mechanical filtration.

Bro make the lower place open means remove the extra rocks and woods this will make the escape more beautiful and and give your Oscars proper place to rest AND LOTS OF LOVE FROM INDIA🇮🇳

Thank you for the feedback Abhinav, I am planning to add a baby oscar for now and will watch him grow. Most of the decor will come out when he starts getting bigger. Thank you and stay safe.

Hi Sujith, I am not sure which tank are you referring to. My 200 liter tank has a home made overhead sump.

How many gallons in that tank mate?
@Fishaholic3 жыл бұрын
Hello, its a 125 gallon tank.
@lpaarcz45673 жыл бұрын
hey mate, going to put an internal filter for extra flow (most likely will put a spray bar though its 1600l/ph). (for oscar tank as well) would you say having cannister intake and outflow on one end and internal on opposite end?
@Fishaholic3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, how long is your tank and how many litres.
@Fishaholic3 жыл бұрын
What do you have at the bottom of tank? And any decorations or driftwood.
@lpaarcz45673 жыл бұрын
@@Fishaholic 5ft long, will have gravel for substrate. Am only going to put a medium sized Driftwood (want to try cover it with some moss) middle of the tank towards the back to allow more space for movement. Not going to put decorations. Also will only have the one Oscar. Might add some loaches in the future
@Fishaholic3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I would suggest canister filter inlet and output on opposite ends. Put the internal filter on the same side as canister filter inlet and if you could use pvc 45 degree connector on the internal filter so water flow is directed towards the surface. Water from internal filter will create surface agitation and sweep the bottom of the tank on the way back to the canister filter inlet. Hope it make sense

@@Fishaholic no worries mate, i just had number of questions,. The 3 foam pads that come with the Giantz Canister Filter. Are they all the same, as in 3 coarse, or 3 medium, 3 fine please? I’ve seen a video, saying all 3 were the same
@RandomOzzieVids3 жыл бұрын
I was also wondering if you’d recommend for me to use the Planted Oscar- Bio and Mechanical filtration setup, or the Giantz setup, I’m getting 3 Peacock Bass, 2 of them are around 45cm, and the other is almost 40cm. Would you choose the Oscar filter setup? Please dude
@Fishaholic3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, the 3 filter foam are all fine foam but not good quality, one rinse and will need to go in bin after that. The bio media is also something I won't recommend using. However, filter itself works well considering its so cheap compared to other well known branded canister filters.
@Fishaholic3 жыл бұрын
I believe your tank is roughly 1500 L. Based on that neither of the filters would work for you as the flow rate is only 2400L/H. You will have to invest in something with higher flowrate or get couple of canisters or even a sump filter. I am only planning to get couple of baby oscars along with some clown loaches and will upgrade filtration as the need arise. One thing I can definitely suggest you is to buy seachem matrix as bio media. 4L bucket is available for $70 on Amazon. Rest of the outlets are selling it for well over $100.
