Those ice skayes are from The Netherlands its called friese doorlopers. People still are skating on them. At the beginning they skate on them with there wooden shoes.

Great piece of Roseville. And the skates were nice too. Karen's comment concerning "dry clean only" had me laughing. I was trying to be helpful with some old drapes. We put one up in the doorway or our bathroom because the entry was too wide for a door. The drape was 6ft long, I say was because I said the same thing as Karen " dry clean only, don't tell me what to do" and I washed it, in gentle with cold water and air dried it... well 6' turned into 3'. It shrank. I still put it up and I laugh every time I look at it. I'm getting a door custom made so I won't be able to shrink it. Haha.

What you have as skates there are Frisian runners. Also popularly called bones or sticks. The name on them "poolster " is the brand of Reesink & Co . Friese doorlopers is its dutch name. Frisian runners are named after Friesland a province in the north of the Netherlands .And in the popular mouth sticks because they are made of wood or bones because they used to skate on bones. These type of skates were made every where in europe . So they are european .And the ones you got are made in the Netherlands .I put the link down below . www.schaatshistorie.nl/schaatsenmakers/schaatsenmakers-en-verkopers/reesink--co_zutphen/

Great finds :) Love that you know what you are looking for! The leaf bowls are usually worth grabbing if you get them for a good price. They are usually from the 50's and on up and people do collect them. A good sized bowl can go for $40 to about $60 depending on the shape and colouring, quality. So if you find one for like $3 to $5 I say give it a try to sell for profit. :)

Hi there Karen and Rob. What will you do with the metal on the biscuit jar ...if anything at all. And love the Roseville.....a find like that makes your heart beat fast!!! Not to misrepresent, but would it somehow be frowned upon to rub a little color on the chips if it's for your own use?. Make sure you check out rules on Etsy very well. Everything has to to at least 20 years old or handmade craft. Also new policy is they want anything over 35.00 to be shipped free. A lot of people are very upset about this. Because in order to recoup shipping costs item prices are going up and no one is buying. Just an FYI to check out Etsy & EBay before hand. Do you have names on on offer up or let go so I can find your stuff?

Dk Rowe I agree with you. A great way to spend a lazy holiday Monday afternoon, watching all the old episodes. If you enjoy this channel, may I suggest you check out another 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 favourite of mine? Curiosity Incorporated is a channel out of Edmonton, AB that I started following in February. Watching all their old videos probably led this channel to show up in my recommended for you suggestions. The channel takes the viewer on picking adventures with an antique store owner who seems to be a genuinely nice fellow. I’ve watched his channel subscribers grow from 125 000 when I started viewing in February to over 256 000 I think they are at now. I’m hoping that by suggesting to his fans to watch the Bargain Barons, that they too, will see a big increase in subscribers to reach their 10 000 goal by the end of the year. And with any luck, from 10 000 to 100 000 will be achieved quickly. It took less than a year for the Curiosity Inc channel to blow up like that.

You guys find the neatest items and have so much fun doing it. Isn’t that illegal yet? I would fill that biscuit barrel with that newly legalized Canadian herb! In Kentucky we grow hemp for rope. Rope smoking just has not caught on. I can drink enough Bourbon though to cause a driving fatality. Go figure? The Roseville (1945) is Freesia console bowl, would have maybe had pair of candle holders to complete the set.
