WE FOUND AN ABANDONED CLASSIC HOLDEN COMMODORE V8 AND SEE IF IT WILL RUN , THE HOLDEN V8 IS AN AUSSIE ICON AND WE WILL SEE IF I CAN BRING THIS VB HOLDEN COMMODORE BACK TO LIFE.
IF YOU LOVE OLD CLASSICS TAKE A LOOK AT EPISODE 18
In this episode i come across an abandoned wrecking yard / junk yard and rescue a HQ wagon and a classic old Ek Holden but thats definitely not all we find. call it a shed / barn find or what ever you like but there is classic survivor cars everywhere, from a XB Ford falcon coupe , Monaro , Torana , a Mopar Charger ,a couple of chevy 56 / 57 , valiants , Commodore HSV clubsport even a few old jdm datsun and mitsubshi cars and much more ever a few old toyota 4x4 . So do take a look it doesn't matter if your into perfect body and paint work , patina , rust or whatever theres a bit of everything in this one for everyone. We will have a few of the cars we bought in future episodes shortly and hopefully you'll see them running and driving back on the highway after years of being parked and left to rot. cheers for watching Backshed .

My awesome neighbors were cleaning out their tiny shed. Said, "We have a broken Compressor. Would you like to have it?". (I had a single stage, VERY noisy unit in the shop). Turns out, they gave me a brand new Belt-Drive two stage Compressor. They had it hooked to a super long extension cord & wasn't broken at all. What a drastic difference in noise. The single stage drove me nuts when running "F%#k the Compressor" every time. Two-Stage, so much quieter!

Since when did "patina" replace the word "rust"? I sold my 1981 VC manual with the odo at 550k on the clock (odomoter stopped around 100k so it did around 650k) as a going concern. Treated digitally its entire life (either on the brake or pedal to the metal), couple of lay shafts, a diff, and a head but aside from that went like a charm and looked perfect - no dents, accidents.... Loved the torque steering when on power and would top 180 km/h regularly. Very fond memories...another, "wish I kept that".

Hello from England 😊, I've been watching your channel for a little while now and I must say I really do enjoy the content. Especially the Australian humour which is far superior to the yanks, getting on about getting the dents out of the tank, in the past I've flushed the tank out and then welded a large nut in the dent and used a slide hammer to pull it out. You might have to repeat the process in different areas but would have worked, now if you don't have a slide hammer use a length of angle iron drill a hole and use a length of threaded bar and a nut and slowly pull it out that way and don't forget to stress relief the metal as you pull. Anyway I have suspension you might have both diff and tranny probs hope I'm wrong. Good luck Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Those indicator combination switches look like they’re aftermarket ones. I think the chocolate one may have been off a VK? Many of the aftermarket indicator / combination switches were made black as the would suit every interior colour , and if the car is over 10 years old, I don’t think many owners would be too fussed with it being black, if it was bought for the right (cheapest ) price!

Holden manufactured their own, stronger version of the bodies. Even though I had a VB Commodore, I never liked the styling as much as that of the Toranas and Kingswoods. @@noelgibson5956 yeah I wasn't a fan of the VB's styling and I like Toranas too, they're crazy light to hold a V8, I passed on a white A9X hatch at a dealer for like 8K, doubt I would have held it over these years but would love one now.

@@backshed5295 I also would have thought shorter videos would help YT views but I'm fine with the long format you do. You have a steady pace in the videos towards getting the job done. It's when long format videos have too much real-time to the extent it feels tedious and too much time-lapsing to compress way too much real-time that things go off track. For me as a voyeur, for want of a better word, and not much experience fixing cars I find you drop lots of insights and tips in the videos that in a short form you would leave out. That makes it more interesting for me. Having watched a lot of YT videos of the big American channels, and a few small ones, I feel well qualified to judge what I like watching.
