Always a bit apprehensive when starting a rebuilt engine for the first time. Nice to have the experts with all of the experience and tools on-hand too. I didn't have the luxury of doing it with the knowledgeable guys you did, and listening to the warm-up advice was interesting. I didn't do it quite like that, I just run through about 3 or 4 carb-fulls of fuel after ensuring the oil pressure was up. I didn't rev it too hard at all, and it sounds like leaving it ticking over was not the best thing I could have done. (see below) Anyhow, I'm sure it'll be fine when I get her on the road next year.
