Just finished binge-watching the entire series! Well done Graham, very entertaining indeed.

In looking to restore my 70 2+2 I intend to make a roll over jig (rotisserie), I was trying to find it's center of gravity to simplify its construction. From this video I can get a very good idea where that is now. Thank you. Great work, keep the videos coming

Excellent, glad to hear that’s helped. All the best with your restoration!

Those doors look light compared to series 3 doors. You are really digging in on work with a rotisserie.

They are quite light, I guess the Series 3 doors are longer? The rotisserie is already really helping, the dash was much easier to remove and I’m scraping off all the underseal which would have been a nightmare if not impossible from underneath. My plan is to take it outside and get the shell stripped while on it too. Lots to do, step by step…😬

I love roll-over jigs, they are definitely the only way for me after using one for my resto, no way I'm ever welding upside-down again at my age. That extra support you made was essential, I could see it bend in the earlier bit of the video and knew you'd not leave it like that. Good solution. One bit of advice though Graham (and please don't think I'm telling you what to do) but I always keep a guard on my grinder. I had a disk let go on me last year, first time in 40 years, but it does happen. Luckily my guard did it's job. I was using a cheap disk from L...(hmm, best not say, but from the middle of one of those German shops) so quality probably not the best. I notice they do wear out at 5x the rate of decent disks too. False economy. Anyhow, thanks for the update.

Thanks Steve, yes good call on the guard, all to easy take it off when you really need to get in at something then not put it back on! Cheers 😊

Cut a section of rectangular steel to fit from top door hinge mount to lock and bolt in on both sides to prevent flexing.

Good call, thanks, I’ll need all the body stiffness possible to make things secure for when I weld in the roof infill panel.

@@fossewayclassiccarworkshop I'd put a couple of steel bars across between the dood opening too then, maybe bolt them on rather than weld. gives a lot more rigidity.

Brilliant, wish I'd have had that when I did my floors on a s1 as well.
