Would've been nice to have shown a photo of a buck andre killed in October (many as he mentioned), and then describe the hunt that took place to kill it, both public and private. I cant relate to the large managed properties, so public hunts would be a lot more interesting. This is my new favorite podcast, love the video podcast format. Thanks for being you.

For example, the tuning fork buck andre killed in Illinois I think, was killed in rolling hills, ditch ravine terrain during the morning of a red moon or peaking/underfoot moon at or around sunrise, late Oct the day after being bumped. I would imagine this will be a podcast on it's own?

Love your products. My advice to the public is, hunt your hunting area based on its features (terrain, wind, food, etc) or hunting pressure. There's no correct answer for all these questions, just learn your hunting area and hunt it accordingly. Obviously, hunting on private land is wayyyy easier than on pressured public lands!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My honest opinion about this topic and I'm not a expect by any means, but I feel people are just scared to push the envelop and get close to a buck bedding areas. The key to being in the game, as they say over and over again is to put a stand or saddle on your back and find hot sign near bedding, dive in, don't be afraid to screw up and learn from your mistakes. We seem to get caught up in the strategies everyone else is doing or not doing. I think we just need to get out there, hunt, learn, and hopefully succeed.

You guys started talking about hunting on a ridge while the thermals around you rise. Could you elaborate on this? What is a thermal compared to the wind? Why is it important? Hunting on a ridge in the morning compared to the evening? Thanks in advance!

If your hunting a property for a specific buck but he beds on your neighbors property and comes through at night a couple days a week when would you be banking on being in a tree? Cold fronts, weather changes, or wait for the first hot doe

Got a good buck bedding in a tough spot on a 120 acre private piece of property. Spot is bulletproof for him. I am thinking about spooking him out purposely to get him into a kill able spot. He is a core buck so I don’t think he will completely leave the property. I think it is worth the chance to have a chance to get him. This is the third season I have been aware of him so it’s either that or he dies of old age. Thoughts?

Not sure if this is the place to post a question...but I have 1. I always hear people say when soy beans turn yellow and then brown, deer don't eat them until late season. Well, when the soy beans turned brown, I saw does eating them one night and the next night I saw a 160" buck eating them. What are your thought on the different food patterns ie... soybeans, green browse, acorns, corn, etc. Thanks.
@davidward6201
@davidward6201 4 жыл бұрын
My experience is once beans brown they'll eat em. whether it's oct, nov, dec etc. green browse makes up 50% of a whitetails diet, they'll feed on hundreds of different plant species, woody browse/buds, weeds etc. acorns dependent on the mast crop, they'll hit em hard when they start to drop(as will every other animal in the woods) so typically the acorns go fast. scout/glass your various food sources to see what they're hitting, be mobile and adapt to their patterns is probably the best advice i can offer.
