I watch you find all these remarkable items and it totally blows me away. If I was not close to 70 years old, this would totally be my vibe. At this point, I realized I do have some remarkable things that I am passing on to my daughter. The rest to yard sale at end of month and whatever is left donating to St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store as they help out people in local community.

You are fortunate to have a daughter who values what you are providing to her, because so many times children of a deceased parent have no sentimental value of the things you hold so dear. Also, I know being near 70 years’ old seems old based upon when you were growing up. And I am near your age, and realized after reading your comment that I don’t want to limit my goals to a perceived ending (not that it is what you were expressing, just what went through my mind).

I (rob) am ALWAYS kicking some heavy piece of furniture or cast iron piece at full speed, in fact I just kicked the door-frame on my way out of the bathroom this morning putting me down for a minute or two holding my toes. 🤣😂 I am klutzy that way and think I have broken a toe or two over the years as this has been an ongoing thing with me. 😅 Believe it or not tho, we have NOT yet kicked that fireplace insert. 😅

2:36 Filling up your home….I would guess you and Karen are big on “organizing”. Everything has a place and everything has a spot. (I recognize one when I see one.)I knew I was running out of space when mostly everything was organized, yet I am storing things under beds, I am reorganizing closets to fit more stuff, finding shelves/rafters near the ceiling and down low that are empty, using the basement areas and attic areas, spaces in the garage with shelving, cabinets, tables. Perhaps there is a vehicle to store stuff (RV?)….yep, that’s me. Storage space is height and depth, right? Now, I have talked myself into reorganizing my garage better. FYI…Make sure you always have an active carbon monoxide alarm!

@@ShelleyMallory Well the channel really was born just to document our collecting - we're primarily out looking for things to collect - not to resell. With that being said, we DO have to sell things to prevent from becoming hoarders as we continually bring things into the house. Also, if Karen sees something she knows she can quick-flip, she'll grab it to help pay for the weekend's haul. We also have a reseller friend we pick things up for from time to time. Up until this point, when Karen DOES sell something, we've just sold it locally using a local buy/sell app like LetGo or OfferUp. We hope to expand that into an actual reselling business once Rob can quit his day job and concentrate on Bargain Barons fulltime.

1:54 QUESTION regarding how KZbin videos are monetized (how KZbin channels get reimbursed for the ads). This is what I heard in another video, but it was an U.S. channel: 1] a channel gets credited ( monetized ) if a viewer watches advertisement(s)for its entirety up to 20 seconds, 2) a channel gets less, but still some, monetization if the ads are not able to be skipped (my preference for watching ads). Is there anything else regarding getting monetarily credited for your channel via viewers? It is my understanding that SUBSCRIPTIONS, LIKES, and COMMENTS are the things that only ALLOW your channel to be monetized but not monetized in $. And, of course, you have your merchandise. I want to learn more because Bargain Barons are a favorite channel of mine, and I want to help with monetizing your channel via my viewings.

So you've mostly got it.... basically when KZbin shows you ads, an advertiser obviously has paid to have those ads there, so if a viewer watches one of the ads without skipping it, KZbin splits the ad revenue with whoever's video you're watching at the time. Viewers can also send 'Super Chat' and Super Thanks' using buttons below the video, as a way to send money to a creator they want to support. Additionally, fans who want to show support can sign up to be a 'Member' which I see by the special icon beside your name that you are, thank you very much!! You could upgrade the the 2nd level of membership if you like and that would get your name on the videos but it costs more as well. Then we have our store, www.bargainbarons.com where people can buy shirts and mugs etc to support us monetarily. Other forms of support are simply watching the videos, sharing the videos with friends on social media, commenting, hitting the LIKE button 👍. All those things tell KZbin that you like the video and if enough people do those things the automatic algorithms running on KZbin pick up on that and start to recommend the video to more people, which can help earn a creator more views and more subscribers/followers. Hitting the Bell icon means you want to be notified every time the creator puts out a new video. If you don't hit that, then you might only get notifications of new videos every once in awhile. I have a question about “sharing”. How do I share? What exactly is that? If I want to include a link to one of your videos, it is my understanding that KZbin doesn’t like when people comment with links, and KZbin may remove my comment which includes the link.
