A Global Breakthrough
After a long R&D, EPC LTD has managed to build and operate a medium size wastewater treatment plant driven only by solar power without an electricity backup.
We built, in the south of Israel, a treatment plant in a secluded location about 1.5 km from a community of approximately 500 inhabitants.
In order to expand the community and to open a new kindergarten and local school on time, there was a need to build a new improved wastewater treatment plant in minimum time and zero infrastructure.
EPC has taken on the challenge and in the absence of basic infrastructures such as power supplies, has established and is operating the "Bio-Disk" (RBC) purification facility entirely by solar energy.
The many advantages of using low-purification technology with low operating costs and minimal sludge production, enables full operation of a compact solar array.
The panels located on the system structure in an area of less than 70 square meters operates the facility with a purification capacity of up to 100 cubic meters/day continuously 24 hours a day.
The installed solar system returns its investment in less than one year of operation by a fuel-efficient generator and it is a more ecological solution.
Similar systems can be installed in existing plants or plants that have readily available electrical connections to reduce the high electricity costs that are an integral part of the treatment plant operation.
