Wow! Great video very thorough. Callaway has seemed to crack the code on the better players irons. They are very consistent with the numbers and not a lot of highs and lows like the Titleist irons.
@epgolfstudios Жыл бұрын
Thanks Neal, really appreciate the comment 👍 yeah I wouldn't necessarily say I found them any more consistent than the Titlesit irons to be honest, the Titleist irons are also brilliant. But there will definitely be some head to heads coming with those 2 brands 👀👀

I’m a 10 handicap player, CB is the best iron I have ever hit. I have the CB in AW- 5 iron and the pro in a 4 iron with KBS money taper 120. For feel and overall playability , they are just amazing!

Thank u, im leaning towards the CB - 115gr shaft. Currently using the muzuno 923 hotmetal

Great Video. What a time to be buying clubs. Titleist T150 and T200, The Mizuno Pro range, The Taylor made P790 and P7 clubs these Callaway Apex irons and not forgetting the PXG irons and the direct to consumer clubs like Takomo and Sub70 . I bet Ping and Cobra are kicking themselves not bringing out better looking clubs. If I had the money I would be looking at the T200 and the Apex Pro, with the possibility of making the short irons maybe 9 upwards in the better golfers clubs. I will say the fitting service from PXG is superb.

Absolutely agree, everyone is making just amazing golf clubs nowadays. The competition is so high! But great for us consumers to have so many different options of fantastic clubs 👌👌

Hi if I can jump in, don't like the way the screws rust on the Apex and PXG. Also the PXG black on the club, I've seen this scratch. I like to look after my gear, this is disappointing.

Love your thorough reviews, been missing that on youtube 👍 although your swing is very fast and consistent, so not sure how the Numbers would translate for medium hcp golfers. Still, keep up the great work! Would be a cool thing if you would compare CB, t150 etc and delibirately misshit 50% of the shots and see how the clubs compare.
@epgolfstudios Жыл бұрын
Thanks Markus 👍👍 yeah I have incorporated some slower swing speed testing into other videos, the big takeaway is how the heads compare to each other regardless of speed, even at different speeds the pattern remains the same (in terms of launch and spin and distance) Actually speed is one of the lesser important variables when it comes to what clubs fit you best. The T150 will go up again the Apex Pro and the CB will go up against the T100, they are really the head to head competitors within those brands. Also Apex Pro Vs P770 too. Great head to head that would be. And yeah regarding the mishits I don't feel like that would ever be a fair test of the clubs. I'm not good enough to regulate how bad I hit any given shot. So if I mishit 20 shots slightly worse with the Apex than the Titlesit then it will look like the Titleist is way better, even though it's not actually the clubs fault. That's a very tough one to test accurately and be fair to all clubs. The only really fair way is to do what I do and show you some bad ones and then give you my experience of forgiveness throughout the whole test, plus the fact of doing loads of fittings with them. But being honest they are all so good now. So like between the Apex Pro and the T150 I would put a lot of money on them being absolutely no different when it comes to forgiveness. The reality is everyone makes amazing clubs now. None are much better than any others. Now it's only about getting fitted correctly to ensure you get the right launch / spin / ball flight ect. Forgiveness barely comes into it anymore. Even between a 'Players Iron' and a 'Game Improvement Iron' there is no way near as much difference in forgiveness as people think 👍

Another great comparison. I don’t think Callaway irons aren’t always that pleasing aesthetically but I kind of like these🧐

Thanks bud. Yeah interesting, as I said I think they could be a little marmite. I didn't love the initial look in photos but certainly better in person and they are growing on me,. especially that CB 👀👀😂

my big bertha irons are 30 years old but i still use them..after working 53 years at a golf course you would think they would give me a new set..retired with old clubs.

Well you know what they say, if it ain't broke...don't fix it! But yes that is a great service to them! So you would think somwthing along those lines would have been nice to show thier appreciation!

Thanx a lot! Great test. Very insightful. One question, please. Currently playing Callaway X Forged CBs. Happy with them. Any big difference with the new CBs? May be, slightly thinner top line? Worth swapping the set?.. Regards!

I think its psychological that you thought you noticed a difference in feel and sound as all three irons when it comes to the 7-iron are all 1025 steel, none of the 7 irons are hollow (only 5 and above are on the Pro), and none of the 7 irons have the microspheres (again it was only done in the longer clubs). From your sound playback they all sounded the same on this end. Good information and testing you did. Thanks for sharing!
@epgolfstudios5 ай бұрын
The pros are all hollow they just have a different face design in the shorter irons so it definitely doesn't feel or sound as good as the CB but still performed great

Great video mate. Look forward to seeing these in the flesh. How does the pro compare to the 21 pro; less offset, smaller?
@epgolfstudios Жыл бұрын
Thanks bud. Definitely not smaller. Maybe a touch less offset but again not loads. So profile wise I wouldn't say there's much in it tbh

another great informative video, would you put the CB in your bag?
@epgolfstudios Жыл бұрын
100% I could play them Paul! The T100s are winning for me at the moment but a head to head between the CB and the T100 could be very interesting 👀👀

The CB was designed with tour player input to replace the TCB so its going to be the best by far
@epgolfstudios Жыл бұрын
It is an unbelievable iron. But the pro is also brilliant to be fair and that will suit a lot of amateurs better than the CB. All depends on your standard, your delivery, what you need ect. But yeah great line up of irons 👌👍

Would be great if you hit all these new offerings with the same shafts/setups so we can compare across videos. Thank you for considering.
@epgolfstudios Жыл бұрын
Hey bud. I mean I could do. Although 2 points to consider there really. Even if I did I wouldn't recommend looking at data sets over different days because my swing will probably be slightly different. I can change my swing quite a bit day to day depending on what feels comfortable and that will change the outcome ever so slightly. So head to heads on the same day is the only data I will ever really fully trust. And 2 shafts don't change launch and spin, like at all, so it's doesn't really matter anyway 😂
@dsloan9561 Жыл бұрын
@@epgolfstudios I think you are consistent enough to not be overly concerned about one day to the next. Hence your sample size being reasonable. Just looking to eliminate variables across videos. I also forgot the ball....use the same ball too. On the plus side for you, perhaps it will encourage folks to watch more of your videos....to compare. Don't really see a downside for you. Cheers.

Why did you change to the left dash for the test?
@epgolfstudios Жыл бұрын
No reason particularly other than I like to dabble and test different bits out so see what I think. Just gives me more insight into different things so I can accurately recommend stuff in my fittings.
