The TSR3 is the best driver I’ve ever owned, hands down. I went from a Tsi2 to the TSR3, and I promise on everything I own that I’ve gained 40-50 yards off the tee. The ball launches half the height and I now get tons of bounce/roll. The Tsi2 went very high and practically plugged in the fairway.

Video idea - 20 shots draw 20 shots fade on a tighter golf hole, then figure out the strokes gained. Would be interesting to see if fades are more accurate and how much, if any, strokes you'd give up hitting one in the long term.

Would be an interesting test to do. Kinda feel like you'd need more than 20 shots for it to be fair though. How sporadic my driving can be 😂 one day the fade could be better the next day the draw

I had to do a Troll Search on Apex Irons after yesterday 9-3-24. I Game the Apex 16's & went to hit the Apex 21's thinking it's time to get new tech to offset my lack of mobility. DUDE! I was carrying my Apex 16 8 Iron 162-168 yards vs the Apex 21 Irons (5 Year newer Tech) within 2 yards of that. 🤣I was about to spend $900 bucks on a new set of clubs, until I hit them. HECK NO..🤣🤣🤣 Hit the center of the face for more distance. Upgrading from already having Apex is a HARD NO FOR ME. Upgrading from "Never Having Apex" is a Yes for me.

this is great - I wanna hit these so bad! Do you find with all your content/testing of clubs you're finding things you maybe didn't know about (like the strike moving when the weight was in the back of the 4) - and in turn that's helping you with fittings?

@freddym66433 күн бұрын
So if there's no forgiveness difference, then what is the practical difference between the 2 and the 3 model?
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
Just the launch and spin difference mainly so depends what the player needs. But then you could just go up or down in loft to fine tune that anyway. The 3 has the extra functionality of the sliding weight which is nice to try and prevent a specific miss. So yeah really it's only the sliding weight and the looks as long as you make sure you get the right loft to suit your delivery. I've gone 2 as it sits much squarer than the 3
@freddym66433 күн бұрын
@@epgolfstudios So for example a 8 degree 2 and a 9 degree 3 would play very similar? (assuming those are the real lofts, I know there are manufacturing tolerances.) Does the 3 sit more open?
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
Yeah exactly, I think they would play very close to each other. And no the 3 sits more closed than the 2. Well it doesn't but it looks like it does to me. Same as the 4. The 2 is the only one that doesn't look closed to me which is why I play it 😂 plus I actually really like the shape of it too.

@@epgolfstudios Nice that's helpful. I would have thought the other way around with the 2 and 3. Sounds like the 2 will be the one for me as well then, coming from a 3 in the tsr. 4 I've never understood the appeal of with the smaller head
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
Yeah you'd think so wouldn't you. Very weird but I do think it's something to do with the lines they've added to the face. Well I'd still say get a fitting as you could definitely still find it easier to middle one Vs the others. Like I did here I was middling the 2 far more then the 3 or 4

What gram weight do you put in the gt4 to make it a 2.5?
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
It's just the stock weights that it comes with as it already has one heavy weight and one much lighter weight so you just put the heavier weight at the back. Titleist do also offer different weights so you could even swap the heavy weight out for an evening heavier weight to further help increase stability, launch and spin 👌

With all the strikes in the low toe at what point do you just tee it up a touch higher and maybe set up a touch closer
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
I find tee height makes virtually no difference. And that's generally the same regardless of ability as i do it all the time in fitting with people who have a consistent strike. It does help sometimes but a lot of the times it makes no difference. Better finding the best club shaft combo that helps you find centre more, like the 2 for me was definitely more central so just play that and job done 👌😂 but got me it's a great miss and I'd rather low toe than high toe so happy to leave the tee where it is tbh

It would be good to see a video with different shafts in the GT2.5 and see how it performs
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
Depends what you are wanting to see. That would really be a shaft fitting video for me, only because if I took the bad shots out then there would be no difference. Shafts just don't change launch and spin much at all. But obviously they can help improve timing, strike, miss etc. And then I don't feel that really links back to the head
@sillysausage48723 күн бұрын
i get so confused by these indoor sims. my best ball speed is 197 mph and on trackman total 363. but by your numbers of 325 an extra 30 mph means i should be easy at 400 yards .
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
There are a shed load of variables. What were your launch and spin like on the Trackman when you were getting those speeds? I can only assume your launch and spin is very sub optimal and that’s the cause of the lack of distance relative to ball speed. GC Quad in fairness I think does over read distance compared to Trackman and real life. I think at those distances outside id be at least 10 yards shorter.
@cliveg83503 күн бұрын
Wow, 11mph faster than Rory
@freddym66433 күн бұрын
Trackman is real, foresight massively overestimate distance. Especially with driver.
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
It definitely can especially when it gets too low spin on GC Quad. But I still think quad is far more consistent inside unless you use RCT balls on Trackman. But I've done head to head testing and if you are carrying the ball around the 300 yards mark then generally it's around a 10 yard difference between trackman and quad. As you get less and less distance the difference becomes less and less.
@sillysausage48722 күн бұрын
@@epgolfstudios I didnt think it was sub optimal. Haha. Launch 10.2 .carry 334 total 363 Using 8 degree LS arojet. I have like 10 shots all the same ball speed between 192-197. Outdoor trackman.

Are your strike points usually low for drivers or just on the GT drivers. Is it better to have higher strike points above the center of the club face for the best results
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
Yeah I can generally hit it low toe with any driver 😂 that is my strike miss tbf. And yeah if you're talking distance then higher on the face is definitely longer than lower in the face. But high on the face results in lower spin and longer distances meaning the miss can be bigger. For me id rather miss a bit low, might not go as far but generally a safer miss

Great content Ross 👏🏻 Know this isn’t reflected in your data here, but I’m personally finding my new GT3 very left biased compared to TSi3 and TSR4 models I’ve previously gamed. Know the face graphics can influence club delivery in different ways for different folks. To my naked eye, there does look to be considerably less “toe flare” on the GT3 model vs TSi3 at address. For context, I tested the TSi3 and GT3 side by side in my same gamer shaft (Ventus Black TR6x). My mate also repeated the test- it also produced a left miss for him (I’m a +2.1 HCP, and he is +4.2). Noticed your very first shot with the GT3 went left as well. This also happened to us, and we had to consciously adjust. Interested in your thoughts mate. Is it in my head, or is there genuinely something to this!? 😂
@epgolfstudios3 күн бұрын
I will definitely say with the new face graphics the face looks more up and left, even though it probably isn't, but it definitely has the appearance. And in our GT3 Vs TSR3 video Josh definitely squared the face better on the GT than the TSR, again essentially more left biased which for him was a good thing. So yeah I mean I could definitely see that mate. Possibly the GT against the TSR is a touch more left biased. And yeah it could be the reaction to the face. Who knows! But I would love to know 😂
