Excavations have revealed grand monuments of the Roman Imperial period including the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre. Little remains of the famous Temple of Artemis, one of the “Seven Wonders of the World”, which drew pilgrims from all around the Mediterranean. Since the 5th century, the House of the Virgin Mary... became a major place of Christian pilgrimage." (quote from whc.unesco.org/....

Ephesus was an ancient hellenistic city in what was then called Ionia. It actually flourished centuries before it passed to the Romans at about 130 B.C. Your reference to whether Greece is fabricated or not, whether it's the same people who inhabit it or not, is verging on the ridiculous. All civilizations are born and influenced from specific previous ones, not just the Hellenistic one. So, in this respect, this kind of architecture which is found all over the Mediterranean sea is either Hellenistic, or based on Hellenistic influence, i.e. Roman.

I've been in this place a few years ago. It brings me back to the beautiful and unforgettable memories. The ruins of this ancient city is very beautiful. The weather at that time was very cold and windy, the wind blew up to my face. there's different feeling when I got there, very serenade and calm. Ephesus is one of amazing city created by ancient Roman people at that time. I really want to come back to this site someday. Very great experience to witness ancient legacies that still exists until now.

I've always been fascinated with ancient civilizations that put so much art, thought, and structure into their cities, yet today the lay in ruins. What stories are told by the remaining stones! Great footage of Ephesus!

My husband and I went to Ephesus back in 2012 and it was such a nice experience coming from America. Also, as African Americans, they treated us exceptionally well. Almost in amazement. At the Virgin mary House, the kids were seemingly on a field trip and when they saw me, they rushed up to me asking could they take my picture and wear my shades. I was in heaven. Our tour guide was also very flirty, I forgot his name, but it was a very common one. He asked me to be his wife. Maybe they thought we had some money, but I'd love to go back.

I visited the ancient city of Ephesus, but I wonder where exactly the theatre is at 0:10. I guess there were two theatres like those in Athens Acropolis, the one smaller nearby the entrance probably? If I can't remember such a big structure, probably it was a restricted area. I remember seeing a huge main theatre at the end of the visitor route near the exit, where you can also see the gymnasium. I don't think that was the theatre at 0:10? By the way, there were a lot of cats there in Ephesus everywhere as they are Greece! I think I heard that some people take cats as an animal of Caesar. Every photos I took there had cats somewhere in the frame, haha.

Another excellent video. The music was nice and soothing, also. It just seems wrong that this once amazing and beautiful village is left in rubble, abandoned and lonely. Do we know what cataclysm or event broke all those pillars and damaged all those buildings? And, do we know for sure when it was built and by whom? It looks like Greek, or Roman construction, which is so beautiful.

Greek&Turks&Every-Race Make Love, Not Hate. Hate will only fuel people to kill people like in NZ recent mosque massacre. p.s please visit/search ''Turkey Gobekli Tepe'', where humans evolved, before Greeks, before Turks and any other race, interesting ;) PEACE!slam
