I am currently 15 years old and I wanted to join the U.S. Army to serve my country and in doing so I only wanted to join if I could go to Iraq or Afghanistan. But now all troops are getting pulled out permanently, so I can't. Now that I know i could actually do stuff like this, I might when I get older.

@Michael Warren Being a soldier is nothing like in the COD series. Wanting to help people is one thing, wanting to go to war is another. It's admirable to want to serve your country. The mental stress that comes with serving is not for most, and lasts a lifetime. Take it from a person who joined at 17. There are better ways to become "strong", also.

Son if you want to serve. It's something inside you that will make you go. It's not a bad idea, obviously it's just one you have to really understand it's a life changing decision, not always for the best, but can be based on your determination. Whatever your choice is just believe in it, don't listen to these guys that give you an absolute answer "go to college" "don't join". Bro, it's your choice, and your reaching an age to where maybe I will say-playing devil's advocate- you may not fully know the impact of it at your age. But like I said, whatever your choice is. Be confident, and most importantly when and if you see a recruiter, KNOW YOUR JOB OR WHAT YOU WANT. SPECIFICALLY. if not you can literally be a guy with orange cones bringin in the ships or cars. Know your potential, be confident

@@KnobCreekBandit Sir, you do not know how much that means to me. I have been struggling for over a year on my decision and I still haven't come to a conclusion. I am honestly wanting to join if I can go into combat because I am wanting to join the U.S army infantry. Hopefully 11b.

@@DunderMifflinRegionalManager You do not want to see combat, but I know I thought exactly like you did when I was your age and I know I wont be able to change your mind. Just dont let it twist your mind too much, its extremely easy to become a monster.

There are other ways to serve your country son. So many ways.... PTSD is no fun, it last for ..... just be sure of your decision, and choose wisely. Take care of yourself.
