Congratulations from Canadian novice-rated PG pilot who aspires to make distance like you did that day! Nicely done and loved the video and all your commentary. Thanks for posting!

Flying with sailplanes is such a thrill! I did the same in the 1980’s while hang gliding on an XC flight. I never came close to the kilometers you put on here, even though I was flying a British glider. Lol That is the most amazing paragliding flight I’ve ever seen. Congratulations!

Watched all three of these, fascinating. I just had my first ride in a paraglider while on vacation in San Diego and loved it. Seriously thinking about learning and getting USHPA certified at Kittyhawk, NC. Have mixed emotions though about how much I loved it and all of the videos on here showing collapsing canopies! Your videos inspired me to keep going forward with it and enjoy it, sound and looks like you love the sport! Thanks for sharing!

Amazing video Lauren, the video quality is fantastic, it's like being there yourself. It must be a good camera to keep your hands and risers etc in sharp focus as well as the distant scenery. Keep on posting your big flights, Rgds.

EPIC. Learning Paragliding here in Montevideo, but the winds are too strong or not there. 4 months in and only four lessons. I love it though and will keep with it. Music, please?

Great effort Lauren’s... watched it intently ... couple of questions from a newby... 1. wasn’t sure if you hold the risers or only shadow them ... 2. Saw the front reserve container ... looked like a steerable... rigallo? ... underseat ? Two reserves? 3. Must have missed the 100 kph... what was the GR at that gound speed ? Love your videos... thx for post

That was awesome - something to aspire to, being a lowly CP with just ridge soaring under my belt, will keep practicing to get that good. I was taught never to let go of my brake lines, but watching you change gloves and take a snack as well, gives me a bit more confidence that it all wont go to sh*t. if I do.

Hi Ian, I'm glad I inspire you, but in that flight I was high, you should avoid taking your hands off the brakes, especially low near the ground or/and in thermic air.
@tkrafael
@tkrafael 10 жыл бұрын
Ian Baker , if you in low altitude and/or thermic/turbulent air, it's safe to mantain pressure in the brakes, keep stable and correct directions. Lauren Martins was a in a high altitude, in those two situations. Also, the air in which she was flying were "stable", so the hands could leave the brakes. When you go XC, sometimes you need to put your hands down because you get tired in such position for long time. Lauren Martins , I didn't get what is "bunny ears". You pull one of the C lines? What I learned was B-stall and big ears. Could you explain when you go 75% accel, why you use the C/D risers instead of brake lines to mantain direction and stability?

Such an AWESOME flight! i loved it. Here in the States we call pulling the outer A's or B's "Big Ears", but I much prefer your term, "Bunny Ears." (>* Blue Skies & Fly in Peace.

Ola Lauren... Vc usa reserva frontal, né? Não seria interessante inverter os mosquetões, uma vez que Se acionado, o reserva frontal exercera carga dinâmica no gatilho dos mosquetões. Parte essa mais frágil do mesmo... My 2 cents... lol Belo video... poste mais... :)

So how much weight do you have to haul back to the train station? Great video btw, I did some skydiving before but the thing is the air time is always so short, 10 minutes max and you are on the ground, I will definetely try out paragliding some time in the future.

I cant believe you made that flight all by yourself...did you really have to hitchhike to the train station at the end of your flight? Would have been great to have seen you land. A camera near your feet facing you would have been great too. Loved it.
