Out of all the inspirational tests I have watched from the Roy Dean School, this is probably the best. Those black and brown belts took everything from him. If you're holding back the tears at the end, you know you have left it all on the mat. Fantastic!

What a herculean effort. I'm a new white belt and I can't even comprehend this moment. Wow. I've seen Chris in other videos. He was a very good purple belt. Much deserved reward for all those years of hard work and dedication. Good for him.
@dirkbrouns52933 жыл бұрын
Agreed - he was fed to the lions to take the larger part out of him. We all know, when exhaustion kicks in, your level goes down the drain quickly. The demo of techniques is already a hefty workout. After that, you're getting killed twice.... Solid, solid level of jiujitsu here.

@tyleryoakum81475 жыл бұрын
Ive never seen a man get pushed to his limits in BJJ harder than this man. He constantly was under pressure, in pain, and "losing" those rolls. But he kept on fighting. He kept going and he showed not only skill, but heart, and desire to succeed. This man did everything in his power to obtain his brown belt and deserves every inch of that fabric. Saying congratulations feels like and understatement.

We literally go this hard every night, 6 days a week, roll 7 rounds, 6 min each. The big eye opener for me was when I did my first tournament and realized that it doesn't matter what you know if under pressure you can't execute it, by the 2nd tournament I struck gold and now understand what pressure on a small level is. Short answer is yes this man went hard, but if i can still talk at the end of rolling then I didn't go hard enough.

Seeing the difference in Peter from his crucible to this video, he has gotten so methodical. I did notice that as Chris got more tired, he also became a little more thought out in his actions. I used to want to just watch good bjj, and sort of assumed that I would "only" get it via competitions. Then I realised I wanted to watch people roll, not compete so I found great seminar videos from people like Lucas Lepri and the Mendes brothers. But it would be rare to find videos with that consistent excellent jiu jitsu mixed with great video quality. Then I found Roy Dean and I couldn't be happier. Watching the level of detail, the sheer willpower and the humble and professional mood throughout the videos just inspire me in so many ways. Thank you Prof. Dean and everyone else involved in these for the inspiration and for the feeling of something greater in life to pursue.

That's what I kept thinking too. As a fellow blue belt, I totally know what it's like to be in that position. He did a good job.
