Doubtful that anyone will really encounter or care much about this comment, especially considering it will probably turn out super long, but I've been reintroduced to this series after a long period of doing other things; it was initially "A Breeze from Home (Vocal Version)" that decided to show up in my recommended, and now this video as well... So I'll start off by saying that EBF really is a special series to me like many others. I'd like to think I'm a pretty big variety gamer, it would be hard to find a genre or style I don't like (I guess there are first-person shooters, I don't enjoy them myself, but I can understand why other people do), but ultimately it's RPGs that have the biggest calling to me I love some other games - Mario, Zelda, Pikmin (my favorite non-RPG series), Banjo-Kazooie, Ratchet & Clank to name a few (there would be more, but I don't want to spend too much time on this part) - but there are plenty of RPG series I would hold among my favorites as well. Cosmic Star Heroine may very well be my favorite stand-alone RPG, but I otherwise consider the following some of my favorite RPG series: Xenoblade, Bravely Default, Phantasy Star, Paper Mario, Horizon (I just hit 100% - or 98% as it's incorrectly listed for now - in Forbidden West, outstanding game), even Pokemon now that Legends Arceus has renewed my interest, and of course, Epic Battle Fantasy itself Unfortunately, I do have to admit I was late to the party; EBF4 was the first game I played, after discovering on a website that wasn't blocked at my high school. I still remember carrying my save file back and forth between home and school via Google Drive... I would go on to play 1 and 2 to completion on Newgrounds a few weeks later. I hate to say it, but I've never finished EBF3; I did play it, but I only ever got about halfway through. I did forget about the series for a while after that - or rather, I just moved on to other things - until EBF5 got announced. I replayed 4 and kept up with all the updates; I checked DeviantART and KupoGames.com often, and tried out the tests that got released Fast forward to the game coming out, and I buy EBF5 right at launch. I choose to stream it, though it's not like I have any sort of real following, it was just two people watching me - my boyfriend and, perhaps ironically, my ex-girlfriend from high school who had since become my best friend (she's also played EBF4, but none of the others afaik) With the two of them, I went through the game and was blown away. The nature of the characters, the way that they all still meet each other despite the altered circumstances. The way they all still become friends, it was just such an awesome game. Akron, Godcat, Cosmic Monoliths, and the Beholder being recontextualized was such an awesome reveal, and a wonderful way to handle the "soft reboot" Then the 2.0 update rolls around, and I get back into the game - I continue my file rather than doing NG+, attempting to 100% the game (besides Epic Medals, those are still a bit tough for me) The God battle just blew me away when I got there, leaving me speechless. Not a real fight, and honestly, not even a test of strength either; it felt like a conversation which happened to include stupidly powerful attacks getting thrown around... What an awesome feeling and an awesome song to cap off the series. And just this week, the aforementioned music shows up in my recommended, so I revisit EBF4 to try out its 2.0 update! I chose not to convert my old save files so I could re-earn the Medals from scratch, and well... I've done it! I played the game on Hard this time (I had previously played on Easy, then Normal on my second playthrough), and even turned it up to Epic for boss battles - I have earned every Epic Medal except for the Marathon Battles and Godcat (I can't quite get a working strategy for them, and haven't even tried to the Marathon Battles yet tbh) Now, finally, I'm in the midst of replaying EBF5 - doing a Custom Game with all three Remixes activated - and have just reunited with Natalie. It's kind of funny walking into the museum for the "first time" and already having every room (except the central one) open... Regardless, I simply wish to reiterate that this series accompanies the many others that I love. Cosmic Star Heroine is my all-time favorite game, while Xenoblade probably takes the top spot as my favorite series. Despite that, Epic Battle Fantasy has and will always have a special place in my heart. If you happen to read this whole comment, Matt, I want to thank you (and everyone else who has worked on these games), like all the rest have, for creating such an amazing series

I was introduced to EBF from a friend of mine that liked to dabble on Armor games from time to time. He showed me EBF2 and I really freakin' loved it. Went back and played EBF1, came back and played EBF2 a bunch. One day, while browsing Kongregate, I found EBF3, and since then, I've kept close tabs on this series, and can safely say they are worth the money that I've given to support them. Each game has improved on the last ones in all ways; art style, music, mechanics, dialogue, and difficulty. We are grateful to have you, Matt.

Can't believe it's been 10 years, I played the very first one back in my Newgrounds days and I had a lot of fun with it, took me quite a long time to beat since I was 11, but I did beat it. When the second game came out I played through and beat that one too, never suspecting Lance would be a new party member, then EBF3 came out and blew my freakin mind, since you did so much with such a small engine. EBF4 had the same effect x2, bigger world, more enjoyable characters and a great story. I was sad realizing that EBF4 would be the end, but after leaving Newgrounds and moving onto places like Steam, I got an email from a friend of mine who played the games alongside me and the email said you were working on EBF5, and I was so freakin hype. And even though it took quite awhile to complete, I'm sure we can all say it was quite the wait, and a perfect end to the series(Unless EBF6 would be a thing). Happy 10 years, and hopefully this series will become immortalized to others like it did me

I remember randomly stumbling across EBF on AG years ago, and the series quickly became one of my favorites when 3 came around and blew me away. I was in Elementary School when I found by the very first time this amazing game: Epic Battle Fantasy, since that day my childhood was never the same, I loved all the moments I spent playing with Matt and Nat, then the party became bigger with lance, a couples of years later Ana came into being and honestly I cried when I read Ana's last comment in the ending frames of EBF4, and now I've cried once more reading the end of EBF5..... This video honestly moved me to tears. It's crazy to realize how much EBF means to me. I started playing it when I was 9, and then years later, it's so much more than just a game, it was my escape from my bullying and depression, it is the reason I decided to learn piano, and if I had never played the game, I would never have met my girlfriend, due to the astronomical odds.
