Vikings stomp. They were a very crafty and adaptable Force as their Battles with the Moors during their raids across the Iberian Peninsula shows. Despite the Moors outnumbering them 10 to 1 and having Horses the Vikings quickly formed a Shield Wall and had their Archers shoot the Horses which resulted in a Major Massacre for the Moors. They also were extremely good at breaking Shield walls and Phalanx using Fear Tactics because they were very good at psychological Warfare. The Spartans get massacred worse than they got by the Persians

@@Dark_Lord_of_Mustafarthe Vikings were raiders who attacked in a cowardly fashion and the Spartans were own of the oldest organised military force with extensive training and discipline. The Vikings would cower in fead had an organised battle taken place

This Fight already happened. The Visigoths a Viking people started a Raid on Greece they literally decimated the Spartans and reduced Sparta to the ruins it is today. The Vikings were not a joke or bloodthirsty savages as Media makes them out to be. They were basically Europe’s Version of the Mongols with ships instead of Horses. They rip the Spartans in Half

That's right! The Spartans were indeed Greek and had some intense battles with other city-states like Athens. However, this video is not based on real events, it's just how it would be like, if they somehow stay against each other :)

Vikings often wore chainmail or gambeson (if they couldnt afford mail) which even though its just fabric gambeson still offered good protection from blunt weapons (not that spartans used blunt weapons) and offered *some* protection from slashing and cuts (i just got into the video so I apologize if you mentioned this later on)

Funnily enough a lot of American Special Forces soldiers are descended from Vikings, hence their physique and thick beards.

Just getting into the video and already found a huge problem as you are using it as one of the biggest Base factor's in comparing who would win... You said" Spartan only had access to bronze and that was a huge disadvantage" but that is far from being true at all they had not just iron but steel as well as they existed very well into the iron age... Specificaly the Spartan's even made coins from steel so it's not like it was something very scarce that they had to conserve or anything... There weapons especially were all steel and quite good steel at that... Which makes a huge difference because bronze holds it's edge much worse and is alot weaker and the upkeep is much more involved.. not to mention it's structural integrity is not conducive to larger thin metal pieces such as a sword they had to be shorter, thicker and were mostly only for stabbing as the cutting edge( if you are skilled enough to put one on) is ruined almost immediately especially against armored enemies with basic scale or mail let alone plate or sheilds, so for there phalanx style of combat and main soldier being a hoplite ( on foot infantry men with plate armor, shield and Spear) the difference between having a good quality Forged steel spear head vs a bronze especially against other armored enemies with shields makes a HUGE difference so I do agree it would be a major disadvantage if it was true, not sure you're final score yet but I'd imagine that information would have a major impact on your desicion. Other than that thanks for the content you're definitely talented and the quality and entertainment value is definitely here!

The Spartans where more experienced and more tactical in combat now imagine on top of that giving them weapons of steel just like the Vikings , Spartans would win 100%

the vikings would not stand a chance against spartans that fought as one impenetrable highly tactical and cohesive unit. they would have been cut down to pieces as soon as they arrive in front of a hedgehog with 2,5 meters of spears. they would not even reach the first shield alive. then the phalanx would just step over the wounded fallen soldiers where they would have been stabbed to death by the rest of the spartans. minced meat machine. however the vikings where not fighting in open plain fields. up north the fought gorilla wars where different attributes where important.

@@aranha6285 let’s just deny the fact that historians and every single expert (people who aren’t either me or you) deny this fact and say clearly that “the visigoths were not Vikings, they were a Germanic tribe”. The Vikings would have got destroyed by the spartans or any other Greek city state or kingdom (such as Macedon)

The problem is that the Vikings are vastly outnumbered because the Greeks have more allies. Vikings were likely better equipped, especially because they had a much larger navy.

The Vikings literally were the biggest military Force in Medieval. The Great Heathen Army was literally made up of 10000 Jomsvikings. Spartans only had at their peak 3590 Hoplites. Harald Hardada and William the Conqueror each commanded Army’s of at least 20000 Thousand Men

1)spartans were against the greeks? spartans were greeks, they just had siblin fights with other greek city-states. 2)Vikings didnt exist the same period as the Roman empire rather then their descendants. terrible mistakes for a history channel u lost me there.

You can’t even assume the result of a hypothetical fight between the two. Different period and different weapon material. Spartans never use bow and arrows compare to vikings. Spartans were not using or they were not strong in navy and Spartans they were soldiers training from their childhood compare to the farmers vikings. Now, in a face to face battle and same number of soldiers, Spartans could win coz of their training and battle skills. Notice that the real Vikings were not even close to what we watch on the tv. They were not as tall. They had an average of 1.70cm high

The Moors (ancient black men of Morocco) will defeat them both. They already defeated the Vikings. So the Spartans wouldn't be much work. The Moors was actually the most powerful combat powerhouse in that time. Hidden history.

The Moors are not strong, they’re weak as fuck 😂😂. They beat only some of the Vikings, a very small amount aswell. Was Ragnar Lithbrok or any of his sons part of the army that the Moors took down? Didn’t think so. Was any of the known powerful Viking generals and kings part of the army they took down? No.

Yeah, Spartans have *BRONZE* for all their weapons and equipment, yet they were somehow better prepared for war..... The Spartans were supercilious enough to think nothing can touch them. The Phalanx formation is pretty flawed; it only works if the enemy obliged them, and attacked from the front. The 300 movie shows the Phalanx at work in a stone crevice that didn't permit much movement. Again, their enemy obliged, and blindly rushed into them. In the open however, Spartans would be in undeniable trouble. They cannot defend themselves at every angle with a Phalanx. Also, Spartan gear is too heavy for quick manoeuvres. All this means a pretty big advantage for the Vikings, who would just tire the Spartans out and penetrate them from the sides, back, above or below. Spartan Bronze against Viking Iron and Steel is almost certainly a Viking victory.

@OzzSabbath Not really. Due to their rigid structure of training and formation as a unit, they were only ever raised to see a certain tactic works all the time, every time - The Phalanx formation. It was the only way they greeted their opponents. They never thought to improve on their tactics or see if something different would work because they literally never trained any other way. The Vikings, on the other hand, do not have such a hindrance to their capabilities.

@@DarkoRavensPeople forget that Vikings were an extremely adaptable Military Force. Their Battles with the Moors during their Raids on Morocco and Spain show that. In one of their raids under Jarl Rollo (William the Conqueror’s great great grandfather) the Vikings were outnumbered 10 to 1 with Jarl Rollo’s 300 Jömsvikings against a Horse Cavalry of 3500 Archers. Guess what? Rollo quickly had 100 of his men from a Shield 🛡️ circle against the Horses and his other 200 archers mow down the Moors by aiming for their Horses
