I'm Colombian and this is the only video I've seen where they actually try authentic snacks (except for the gansitos those are Mexican but we eat them a lot here 😅) Traditional savory meals are: -yuca con suero ( yucca with serum, which is a kind of sour cream) - bandeja paisa (it's a plate that consists of arepa, fried egg, chorizo, ripe plantain fries, white rice, red beans, chicharrón and avocado) - Ajiaco (chicken and potato soup with sour cream on top) - Arepas (they can be filled with a lot of things, like chicken, meat or sausages, but they are traditionally filled with cheese) -Pandebono (it's a popular kind of bread)

I'm from the coast of Colombia and I loved your video!! It reminded me so much of my childhood. Many people have mentioned Arepas, Ajiaco, etc... but in the coast, Mojarra frita with Patacón is very vey popular. Mojarra frita is a type of fish that's fried with nothing more on it than salt, pepper and garlic, and gives it a very nice crunch. Patacón are fried, green or yellow plantains with a pinch of salt on them. They're crunchy and delicious.

Yayy!!! I’m glad to see a box from a South American country. Colombia is near where my moms from which is Perú. When I lived in New York, I lived in a Hispanic neighborhood so I’ve tried some of these things before. I love the Avena drink! I would get that at a supermarket called Food Bazaar. The gandidos and the marshmallow cookie with coconut toppings I would get at a bodega a block from my house. The Panela can be boiled in water until it undoes itself completely and then serve it with ice/refrigerate it and it’s a very refreshing drink especially in the summer. Also it’s pronounced dul-se de le-che(pronounce that last e) and queso is pronounced keso. I ❤️❤️❤️ this video! Thanks to Jorge for sending so many different things for you to try. Hi guys! Bing whatching your channel in quarentine! You guys asked if guava sweets are expensive or not here em South America. In Brazil, where i live, there are not expensive and its a kind of tradicional so tends to be more cheap then heavly industrialize sweets. Also I wanna to point out that Doce de Leite (or Dulce de Leche in spanish) is not exectly caramel. As you know, caramel is made with melted sugar and sometimes is added milk and butter later. Doce de Leite in other hand, is milk that is cook to caramelize. So its similar but different. Did you recive a brazilian box yet? Thinking about sending one for you. Knowning that Kate has alredy been in Brazil, this could be interresting.

I love caramel , coconut and milk chocolate so I’d be excited to try a lot of those treats, my tum is growling in anticipation.🤣😂 I wish you could get cake by the slice, everyone in the family are chocolate fiends for cheese or regular cakes but I love white or butter flavour ones . I rarely get to indulge though as I’d have to eat the whole cake myself, my birthday is coming up so hopefully they will go to a good bakery where they can get a nice big slice. My favourite cake to make is a white firm cake flavoured with a hint of anise with buttercream icing flavoured lightly with some rum, covered in shaved white Belgian chocolate and sprinkled with sweetened coconut. When I make it for special occasions to take to a party, or barbecue there aren’t even crumbs left. 🤣😂. I bake it in a funnel pan and fill the hole with extra icing as it’s only one layer. I may have to make it myself for my birthday and freeze half for another time. I’m craving it now.🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

The savory traditional food Really changes depending on the city, but some are arepas, basically like thick corn tortillas so delicious with butter and cheese. Some bandeja paisa, that is a big plate with beens, rice, meat, chorizo(which is a type of sausage) with fried plantain or Maduro and avocado. Also there’s this soup in bogota called ajiaco which was chicken and a thick broth made with potatoes and a thing called guasca which gives it the flavor you also eat it with rice. The supercoco came in one of my Universal Yums box. It's made from 100% coconut, like the meat, the water and the coconut milk till its cooked to caramel stage. The Supercoco came in lots of ways too. And you can purchase samples at Amazon.com too.

The sponch and the gansito’s are the only things I recognized because they are in Mexico too, and are also some of my favorite cookies, gansitos also makes a snack cake that are really good if you freeze them first, my husband’s favorite way to eat them
