Please please - either number these kinds of sequential series of videos, or edit the text with links to the prior & next videos. Related, when you mention “I did a video on X”, please include a link to those videos in your text. You are fantastically prolific, & it’s not easy to find the specific videos you mention.

Hey Guy, I don't know if you still read comments weeks after the video is posted, but you have done more to describe what a theme is than all of my teachers in school who were all like "What message did the author want to send us by writing this story?" Your use of theme is more of a theme than a "moral of the story" type event which makes more sense to me. So thank you, and please keep up the awesome videos!

Interesting that the chamber is made of iron. If a similar structure were down in the lower sphere, the energy fields there could interact with it in some way.

And I was practically screaming "Belloq, man! Call him Belloq!" when he was deciding what to name the villain... [EDIT: TIL that the character in _Raiders of the Lost Ark_ is not spelled like the actual French town of Bellocq...]

A 3rd reason a donkey will be better than a horse is the humor opportunities! Donkey (from Shrek) is a great example, plus, the Players in the video will certainly make use of “ass” for their jokes. BTW you noted you’re using a 111 (vs 121 or 122), might want to write that into the block “121” so you don’t forget

I’m new to tabletop rpging, and I am trying to create my own D6 - based game. I am currently attempting to create a wizard class. The idea is that he can use certain elements to cast spells. The elements fire, water and nature. Fire requires more stamina and mana to cast with. The wizard can use one, two or three elements, two elements being the optimal choice for casting. The player starts off with little knowledge of how his class works, and has to find out what the elements do. Depending on his Tome item, different spells can be cast. I’m also considering that the player can choose the path of the sorcerer, using no items to channel his arcane powers. I’m hoping that playing a wizard can add depth to the game since they have to learn how he works. I’d love some feedback on this idea and any ideas that you guys may have! :)

Hello and Welcome to Tabletop! I hope you find this an enjoyable hobby as many of us have found it. Fair warning, this comment is going to be long as I'm going to be replying to all of your comment, so here we go! First, I would recommend that a wizard(or sorcerer, for that matter) would know some of the basics of the class. When planning for these things, players really like to know what their choices are capable of, and withholding that information will most likely cast you in a negative light. However, that doesn't mean you can't do it! Whenever you withhold information, there should be some in-universe reasoning why they wouldn't know what this, like magic users being incredibly rare and seclusive, or magic being a part of a lost civilization that died out to a cataclysmic event millennia ago whose ruins are only being discovered when your game unfolds. I would recommend that they still know some of the basics of the magic system, but details on its extent are not revealed. For example, you can teach them what each element does by itself in the most basic sense(like fire manipulates fire, water manipulates water, and nature manipulates plants and animals, for instance), and then inform them that you can combine elements to get different effects, but don't tell them what happens when you do. This should give you enough room to expand on what magic entails, but still give them things that they know. Of course, you don't have to use my example, but for what you do choose, keep in mind that golden rule of withholding information - Give them a Reason! As for what you could do with this as a magic system, I would give certain benefits and drawbacks to each element. For instance, with fire, you already have a great limitation in that it costs more to use, so consider something to buff it up. Perhaps it's the only element that is created by the caster, and the other two have to already exist for it to work. you could also make it so that fire does more outright damage up front, and lingers to do more damage later. As for water, Perhaps they could manipulate ice as well, or do healing, just some power that it has that the others don't. Perhaps nature magic has minions that it can control in the form of plants and animals. Anyways, I would recommend giving each element a specific benefit so that the use of that element has some purpose, and a drawback so that it doesn't overshadow its peers. Finally, onto the sorcerer idea. I think it should work, but keep in mind one thing - you have to give them a drawback that the wizards can get around. I would personally recommend that they have a limit to what spells they can learn, or perhaps there are rituals and other magic arts that wizards get but sorcerers don't. Maybe these tomes that the wizard gets can augment their abilities in some fashion. Overall, this sounds like a great start to a system and something that could be great. Keep it up and Happy Gaming!

I would recommend you check out Fabletop, it's a free browser tabletop that uses a simple d6 system that focuses on narrative. It's a small community but it's a great place to bounce ideas off of people and play with others in a wide genre. Many people come and make their own tweaks or rules to the system so perhaps you can use that as a base for your idea and get player feedback. Have fun and stay creative.
