I find it interesting how many people don't actually know what 'Celtic' even really means, at least in the UK. I certainly didn't before picking up a book on the subject (I can recommend 'Exploring the world of the Celts' as a great introductory book) as its not really taught all that much as part of the the UK's education curriculum, which is a real shame because Celtic history is one of the most interesting and rich periods of our, and many other European countries heritages. Indeed, this is one of the things many people don't realise about the Celts - they came from all over Europe, not just Britain, and certainly not just Ireland and Scotland! The Celts were around for several centuries before the Roman conquest of Europe and Britain and their heyday was in the Early Middle Ages, but after that they fall into decline due to other competing cultures so that by the time of the Norman conquest of Britain in 1066, most of Europe and Britain is no longer Celtic. Their last bastions remained in Ireland and some parts of Scotland, which is what has survived best to today and accounts for why 'Celtic' is often associated strongly with both, but even these changed a lot due to Christianity and other modernisations of the time. There's some Celtic history 101 for ya.

So after all that you didn't say what the word "Celtic" means. xD haha I was curious. :c Sure I could find out myself on the web... but since you mentioned it, would be cool if u said it. hah.

Greetings sir, yes I know I answer very late but first I would say thanks for that you wrote here. Not really for me but more for those who don't know about Celtic history. And secondly I want just to add a thing about that, yes you mentionned the Celtic history is not only about UK and you totally right, I'm really a modern celtic from "Bretagne" a piece of France, a region who is really full of celtic legends like the Brocéliande Forest (about the King Arthur for example) and his own language who is the "Breton" (Breizhoneg in that language) who has the same age than the Latin. Well it's just to say that and sorry for my English ^^ Kenavo ;) (Good bye)

Thank you for giving us all a history lesson on the Celtic culture and its rich historical time period. I myself am inspired by every culture on this planet and am willing to learn more of the historical beauties imbedded inside each country. I certainly agree with you when stating that "many people don't realize that Celts came from all over Europe, not just Britain and certainly not just Ireland and Scotland". In fact many documentaries indicate that the Vikings came from Norway and other Scandinavian countries, and later made their way to Greenland and Siberia. I find this being very neat since, some historians hold true that the bone structure and way of life of the Vikings are similar to those of Scandinavian countries. Hope to learn more from you in the future to come and the many books you read in UK. Please continue to share your knowledge with the world. Thank you, Paula.

This music does remind me of my ancestors as you have mentioned . As for myself, I am Romanian, however this Celtic music does relate somehow to my ancestors that were said to have been Traci and Dacian, as I am born in Transylvania. I wish I could understand every culture and learn each of its countries traditions. This would probably broaden my horizons and help me understand the rich history of each country especially of all the Scandinavian countries. Would love to hear more of the rich history of Scotland! Wish I was Scottish so I can understand Scottish students in Toronto. Hope you can help me. Looking forward to some historical support. Thanks, Paula.

Honestly, I prefer this music over the type of music that we developed, as of today. Mostly because of it's, "uniqueness" i guess you could say, and how beautiful it sounds. I mostly enjoy orchestrated music, and especially Irish Celtic music. It just has that feel to it like you're gonna do something epic xD and that helps when playing a really competitive game, like an fps game. I may be bias about this music being better because I'm part Irish, but I love Japanese music as well, and so much more xD

Even after millennia, my heritage endures in historical records to Scottish ADN ancestry. I hold a deep affection for the music, landscapes, and traditions of Scotland. Moreover I treasure my great-grandfather's bagpipe, a tangible link to our familial past in the North-east of Portugal, nestled amidst the mountains and rivers of North Atlantic lands, were we encounter a parallel world, where time-honored customs linger, echoing those of Celtics roots. Time didn't take it away, it only turned it into something better!

59:22 this track is always so memorable for me. it's just such a classic great track, it seems to go with everything. i have heard it play in many of my skyrim playthroughs, it never gets old for when it plays.
