DO NOT skip directly to the dance. The heartwarming sentiment and backstory to this father-daughter wedding dance is as important as the dance itself. You sir are an amazing human and an incredible father. We should all be as lucky as your daughter, son and son-in-law to have such a wonderful father in our lives. Not all of us do.
@SpyderGarage2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Angela, appreciate that very much. Yes, the backstory is very meaningful to our relationship and to how significant this dance was. But I also realize the attention span of the average viewer is not what it used to be so I gave them options. 😏

This is so true, I wished every single day of my life up until the day my dad died in January 2021, that he would love me unconditionally like this, but instead it was always what I could give him or do for him in order for him to even fake semi caring. In the last 6 months of his life, I heard “I love you” more times than I ever did in the prior 41 years of my life. The sad part is I was the person he treated the absolute worst in the world but in the last 2-3 years of his life, I was the only person that did anything for him, even against my husband, kids and mom begging me not to because of how mean he was to me, but like I told my mom, she raised me better than that. I’m not allowed to drive due to having seizures, but once a week I would have my husband drive me over 2 hours to his house to simply give him a damn injection that he claimed he couldn’t give himself even though he was a nurse. His excuse was I was in nursing school but quit when I had my son, who had medical issues and my husband was in Iraq and I wasn’t the type of mom to leave my newborn child in the hospital alone seeing as he wasn’t in the NICU, so I slept there in a chair many many night and I just never went back and finished nursing school because by the time my husband was set to come home and my son was stable, hurricane Katrina wiped out everything we owned and before I knew it I was pregnant for #2. I still keep saying I am going to go back and finish just so I can prove to my dad that I am not the failure he thought it was and that I finally got my RN, because he took me putting my son’s health over my education as me being a failure. One thing I can say, that old theory of women marry men just like their fathers is completely bullshit, my husband is a complete 180 of what my father was to me and our 3 boys are the #1 priority in both our lives. Our oldest is adopted and is currently away with the army and so many people told my husband you can never love a child that is adopted as much as you can love your biological children and that is just not true at all, he was 17 when we adopted him and it’s like he has been with our family since day 1. We never told my dad we were adopting him because we knew we would get all kinds of racist remarks as our son is Chinese and seeing as the comments we get from strangers is mind blowing, I just know how my father was and I just never wanted to subject my son to that because we love him and it wouldn’t be fair, as it is my other 2 sons and my nephew absolutely hated him by the time he died because of how abusive they saw him be to me even once I was an adult and then the things he did to them behind mine and my sister’s back.

Trust me moments like this are more valuable then gold when all you have left to hold to are memories. Unfortunately I wasn't able to experience that moment with my dad.
