You weren't kidding! I love it when you catch the bite like that. So much fun. I'm glad you put the tilapia catch in the vid. That's the only lake that I've caught a tilapia in the mouth on a bass lure and it was also a square bill. Thanks for the content!

Looks like the shaky head was the fish catcher. What are you thoughts on the chatterbait?

Hey Steven! Yes those shaky heads have been saving me lately! As far as chatterbaits go… I have several. They’re mostly jackhammers. I have thrown them for many years with little confidence. I have fought several good ones on them… I seem to always opt for a squarebill or speed worm. They’re always in my list of lures to gain confidence in. If you’re going to try to gain some confidence I would get a white jackhammer chatterbait with a white zako trailer. After that it’s all about learning the correct cadence and areas to throw. This is the time of year to throw them though! I hope that helps! Good luck!

What rod would you recommend for shaky heads?

@@stevenbartell8065 that’s a great question! traditionally you would use a medium spinning rod with fast to medium fast action that’s somewhere around 7’. I throw a medium heavy fast action casting 7’. The medium heavy I use is very light. I just like it on a casting rod for some reason. It’s a technique that you have to try though!!
