Haha thanks so much for your comment! It definitely made my day. And to think I almost didn’t make this video because I was embarrassed that I caught a sting ray instead of a nice fish. But I always have to remind myself it’s fishing. So you never know what you’ll catch sometimes.

Most of the flounder this time of year are ag the inlets and nearshore reefs. Fort pierce and Sebastian both hold fish on the jetties. I like 2-4 feet of water around current and rocky bottom. They really like the hard bottom. Most of my true doormats have been caught in less then 3 feet of water, very tight to the shore. My pb was a 12 lb fish in maybe 18 inches of water. I really like a spro jig tipped with a gulp grub for numbers of fish but live bait truly is the way to go for doormats. My pb ate an 8 inch mullet and had a pair of almost hand sized croakers in its belly. Mohara, mullet and smaller croakers or pigfish are flounder candy. If you're fishing beachside, baby whiting or medium pilchards are amazing offerings. Keep up the great content man.

Hey man! From what I know from being a guide down here in Texas for some time, Souther flounder aren’t really just on the bottom anywhere, fish structure (walls, pilings , ect ,) docks will have flounder , usually lots . Not saying you won’t catch them not near structure but that’s where I’ve had my best share of flounder! Tight lines 🤟

I'm down there in Vero (since last week) until this coming up Friday if you want to meet up for some fishing! I've been fishing down off Stan Blum boat ramp around mangrove island and some of the other areas right around there on my kayak. I was crossing that shallow bay and ran across a GIANT shark at least the size of my kayak, in about 3 feet of water. I must have startled him because he lost his mind and made a scene. LOL. I need to invest in some of those horizontal rod holders, getting caught up in those mangroves SUCKS!

I enjoy watching these videos as I am new to Florida moved here a few months ago from Delaware so looking to do more fishing here in Florida. I fished almost everyday in Delaware after work and on weekends since moving to Florida I've been fishing a handful of times. I'm in the port st lucie area. So far I've gone to the jetty in Fort pierce caught a few flounder there about 13 to 14 inches and some Spanish mackerel around 14 inches and I've tried bear cove for a couple hours. I'm looking to get into kayak fishing but not sure what's a good beginner fishing kayak to start with any ideas for a good brand to start with and any help with good land fishing locations would be a help. Keep up the awesome videos

@guitjolin2 жыл бұрын
The boat was likely following the deeper water channel (first). The kayak came into his line of navigation or "bearing". It went perfectly fine for both parties involved. You can see the boat further down the mangroves earlier. I was thinking that the kayak stole his line and cut him off, but it looked like a commercial skiff of some kind. Maybe running crab traps
