Howzit quick question what length rod do you use for skidding live baits ? Enjoy the contend really awesome to see nice fish in our home town
@FishingSouthAfrica6 ай бұрын
I use a 14ft rod. The general guide is that the longer the rod = the easier it will be to slide the bait. However off high beaches or rocks a 12ft or 13ft will work but will not be as easy as a longer rod.

Sorry for all the Question how are you getting your live bait from the beach , been trying to work it out. Like the mozzies how are you catching them from the beach or do you have a mate who’s going out to sea on days ? Thank you for the hard work really enjoy watching and thanks for help
@FishingSouthAfrica6 ай бұрын
No problem bud, I don't mind answering the questions. In terms of the mozzies, we get them ourselves, it's hard work though. We normally go to snake park pier around 1 or 2 in the morning to fish for them and then head to our spot after getting enough bait. But I've been hearing recently that snake park pier is now closed to fishing so I'm not sure how we are going to continue

@FishingSouthAfrica Жыл бұрын
If you get picked up while your slide is still on your main line and not your leader. Your chances of getting burnt off, especially when you hit, dramatically increase. That's why most people like to make sure there slide has gone down to their sinker
