EPIC Duck Hunt!!! (Thousands of Mallards Landed in Our Decoys)

We had to work hard, and scout for days to find ducks to chase, but when we did, it was well worth it. We got close to the birds the night before, but never realized just how many were in that area. Just before dark, we hiked nearly 2 miles to look at the ever-building X, and it was apparent we'd be in for something special. From the onset of shooting light the next morning, ducks were swarming our spread like bees around a hive. We let them land and pile up for a little more than five minutes, soaking up every second we could before clapping them out, and by that time only God knows how many ducks were on the ground. Once they cleared out, we started picking at them, and over the course of the windy, misty morning, we enjoyed one of the most memorable duck hunts we've ever been on.

Absolutely awesome, anyone who can’t just sit back and enjoy that without firing a shot shouldn’t be waterfowl hunting. Sights like that is why we do it. I could watch that all day👍👍

I had an evening like that hunting the Rio Grande when I was stationed in New Mexico. I was putting the blind together for the next morning hunt and thousands of mallards lit in the river to roost I guess. I hunted that section of the river for 5 years and did well, but that was the only time I saw that many mallards in one bunch. That was over 20 years ago...I still remember it.

I’ve been hunting waterfowl all my life, and I’m skeptical of any of the big brands in waterfowl anymore, mostly because the people associated with the brands make it all about filling limits, and the feeling I get from those people is if you’re not killing piles then you’re a nobody. After watching this and truly seeing the appreciation that you have, and the respect you have for the ducks that all of us hunt, I’m a huge fan of Divebomb now. Just ordered 5 dz. M1’s. Thanks for helping the rest of us true waterfowlers teach the younger generation what it’s really all about.

I mean so like yeah a handful of ducks gave you guys a little interest or a second look and y’all are drooling on yourselves… 😂😂😂 This was some amazing footage, as an avid waterfowl hunter myself I 110% completely understand the decision to put your gun down, kick your feet up and watch the magic unfold, I’m gonna do my best to try and describe what it feels like to me during the literal only 2-3 times I’ve experienced when that feeling we get at the beginning of every new hunt which is in the best way I know to put into words which would be somewhat doing our damndest to convince a group of ducks to become part of us… magically and overwhelmingly starts to very hastily switch into us hunters becoming part of the ducks due to the sheer strength in numbers…. Which is EXACTLY why it’s way more fulfilling to just set your gun aside and embrace and enjoy that special moment that in all reality you may NEVER be blessed with again…which you guys did a great job of doing!!!! Again, damn it man, what an amazing experience!!! Straight up gave me some Claypools Resevoir vibes!!!

Very cool video guys. My dad and I back in the late 90s had something similar. We had about not over exaggerating 30 to 40 thousand Mallard's, pintails and widgeon come in and had half land with in 5 to 6 feet away. We never fired a shot just watched for over an hour. I'll probably never see that again but I'll always remember it

Reminds me of a time in Saskatchewan several years ago. We dug 3 two man slit pits and put tumbleweeds around. As we watched some canadas work our spread a few hundred Mallards joined them. I was on the left end of the blinds and suddenly a drake Mallard was walking about 18" from my shoulder. I whispered the're on the ground behind us.
