We have one of the best biodiverse lands in the world right here in the Appalachians! This place overflows with food and medicine. I’ll never be able to thank Yah enough for placing me here in these days 🙌🌿

I spent every summer picking elderberries so mama could make elderberry jelly.all us kids would be purple and we knew we would get a whoopin but it was just to tempting not to have elderberry fights.

Nathan I, too LOVE the Elders! 😉 They are so easy to transplant, propagate etc!!! Elderberry makes me so happy.. I see them everywhere here in Central Florida. I'm constantly saying, "oh, there's elderberry!". Love their happy flowers along the roads here right now. Most are turning into green berries already, and some just flowering! It's so interesting how depending on location in relationship to the sun direction, other woods around, closeness to water etc, they are at different stages of growth. 😃 I agree with you, college is not for YHWH's children!!! Gimme the woods, forest, nature to learn from any day! As well as YHWH s perfect Word! If you know of any land for sale around there with abundance and great growing soil, let me know! I will email you! Thank you for the encouragement, brother, praying for you and your family every day! Yah's got something coming your way, He will provide as He always has! He is faithful, will always Be! Shalom!

I love propagating- like to the point my husband is saying "we don't need any more of these plants!" 😂 But I keep clipping and planting.

I have been adding to my Food Forest. Added an Apple tree. Blueberry bushes, Saskatoon, cherry bushes. Had awesome huge blackberries, but neighbour cut them all out. My crrant bush is struggling. The yellow raspberries died out about 15 years ago. Rhubarb refuses to live here. Strawberries were eaten by squirrels, plant and all. Garlic chives are dead or dieing out. Poppy is getting less. Cherry is a type not good for much, but birds. Pear tree is way too big for me to harvest anything. But? I HAVE LOTS of unknown treasures! I am just learning what to Do with them. Juniper Berries, Linden Tree, wild grapes, dead nettles, creeping Charlie, comfrey is trying yo due out, jewel weed, chamomile, etc.

That is absolutely fantastic. This is where you take your lessons from what wants to be there and what doesn’t you’re trying to identify the plants that grow more like weeds in your region the currents often need major shade. They cannot do well in full sun, or even somewhat mixed direct sun, they really like to be in the depths of shade. Something to consider on those guys I hope you’re able to bring back some of those blackberries from the grave as well if you’re doing a fantastic job

What area of the country are you in? I generally would try to find a more region specific foraging book.
