Excellent review! SFG keeps hitting it out the park with their Epic Encounters line and their smaller Local Legends sets too. Thanks for posting the review!

They really are putting out some great sets. Lovely miniatures, and some really fun ideas.

Ever since Deathtrap Dungeon I've loved Manticores!

They are very creepy adversaries.

I love this model and used it in my Drakkenhiem D&D campaign.

It's a fantastic model. Quite a terrifying thing to fight.

Wow I love this box set, the themes and advice sound that are included in the box are amazing!! And that mini, just look awesome. After watching this video, its inspired me to get this box set. Can't wait for the next video, thank you for making this video!!

This is a really cool set, and I appreciate having some interesting human bandits on hand. I will be reviewing Palace of the Drow Queen next week, and if anything, that set is even cooler!

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring NICE, I can't wait to see that review. I'm kind of hyped now haha

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Yes. The Drow background presented by SFG is awesome. Not going to spoil it but it is an interesting twist on the origin of the Drow.

I really like the scaling. I think manticores deserve to be boss monsters, even if the PCs are a bit up in level. Also, nice touch giving the various manticores names of Persian kings, given that they are from Persian mythology.

The sets are very well thought out. Lots of cool little touches that shows a lot of care went into the design.

That is a very pretty figure! 😍 I'm suddenly reminded of Fighting Fantasy, Sorcery! the Shamutanti Hills!

The cover of that book I remember had a very derpy manticore on it. I don't believe I ever actually played the adventure, though.

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring 🤣 trust me, he was no joke in the book! Skill: 12 Stamina: 18 and a chance to hit for 6 damage instead of the usual 2!

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring Oh! Unmatched is doing a TMNT adventure (like the Tales to Amaze) only... it's going directly to Kickstarter...
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoringАй бұрын
I'll keep my eye on it. I'm more interested in Turtles than the last Tales to Amaze. That one went through Kickstarter first before going to retail, so I assume Turtles will eventually hit retail as well.

I watch your channel when I can and I actually own several of these boxes. I know nothing about DND and I have an ultimate FG account too that I have no idea how to use. Maybe someday I’ll find some group patient enough to teach me these things and want to include me. I’m a self made person but FG seems complicated and I regret buying it. These are amazing and I think would be great for what I’m hoping to do someday just have to wait to do it.
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoringАй бұрын
Thanks for watching the channel. I've never used Fantasy Grounds myself, so I can't give you any pointers. Hopefully you will find a group soon!
@billable1861Ай бұрын
@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring yes Fantasy Grounds in my opinion is not intuitive even for someone who is computer literate. It does however seem to be one of the more comprehensive programs for digital tabletop RPG stuff such as what you covered here. I have so much respect for what you do and the passion for your hobbies you are invested in intrigued me. From an outside observers perspective there’s so many channels on the topics you cover but I appreciate your delivery and presentation. Subscribed and looking forward to learning more.

Thanks for the kind words, and for supporting the channel with a sub. I really appreciate it. If you have any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments - I try to respond to everyone and if I can't personally help I bet someone else in the comments will be able to.

They have released several of the booklets and maps over on Drivethrurpg for those that play digitally, and it was asked on their discord if they would consider putting codes in the boxes for those that buy the sets to get the digital included.

Thanks. Yes, the manticore is a very sinister creature.

I think they confirmed on their discord channel that the "hills are alive" paragraph was a copy error from the giant T-rex set.
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoringАй бұрын
That would make sense. It definitely doesn't fit here at all!
@jeremycarnes1656Ай бұрын
I cant decide whether I want to buy this set or the Lizardman set. I could easily drop either one into my D&D-ified Warhammer Fantasy world I play HeroQuest in. And they both look fantastic.
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoringАй бұрын
Both good choices, I think. There will be a review of the drow set on the channel next week as well, and they look great as dread warriors, evil elf warriors, and a couple of them are riding giant lizards that would look right at home in Delthrak.
@jeremycarnes1656Ай бұрын
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring so the setting I've devised is the Warhammer Known World with bits and pieces of D&D and other games shoved in. The drow are a split off from the dark elves of Naggaroth who started worshipping a spider demon, there are beholders sworn to the service if Khorne wandering ruins in Norsca, mind flayers are devout servants of Tzeentch, the Stormcast Eternals are a very small cult of Sigmar hidden away in the Reikland, etc. A drow set would be pretty great, I'm looking forward to seeing the video.
