Hi! Late for the party again! I heard you loud and clear when you asked if it was Bitter Gourd. It was Bottle Gourd. She probably misheard your Canadian accent. I have no problem talking to or hearing an American accent. When I moved to Canada, I have noticed that Canadians talk too fast. I am used to it now. This video got me excited and famished! So many yummy dishes❤❤❤ Thank you!!!
@PureDetour2 ай бұрын
Yup, it was definitely bottle gourd. Found out when I came home and I told Em about it. She said bitter gourd was ampalaya so I had to google it. Oh and i should probably tell you that I am American. But I have been spent more than half of my life outside of the US. 😁

Wish A. Sosing's is near our places. I've heard so much about it and your review confirms everything i've heard. Carinderias can be a hit and miss thing. The one near us, well, some dishes are okay. Anyway, i love Upo (which is different from Bitter Gourd or Ampalaya). We usually cook Upo with Misua noodles. :)

hey, by the way the vege you gotnis not made from bitter gourd but a family of gourd. i don't knwo the exact english translation ut it is "upo" sound like oh-po.
@PureDetour2 ай бұрын
You are correct. It is actually called a bottle gourd but didn't realize it until after I got home and googled Upo. You can hear in the beginning of the video I asked her if it was bitter gourd and she replied yes. but i will also take the blame on that because she probably didn't understand what i was asking. I tend to speak very fast to non native english speakers and that is totally my fault.

did you mistake upo for bitter gourd? that's ampalaya. upo is bottle gourd and not at all bitter
@PureDetour2 ай бұрын
You are correct, Elf. I wouldn't say a mistook it, as I asked her if it was bitter gourd when she said it was really good and she replied yes. But that is probably my fault too as I tend to speak english way too fast to non native english speakers. I didn't have a clue what it was and when I tried it as I said in the video there was nothing bitter about it. I googled it after I got home and found out it was bottle gourd as you suggested.

not gonna lie, their prices are a bit high for the portion of their serving. not sure if it's worth it for the quality because for me it taste just the same as others except for the liempo. i guess the very delicious soup is what you are also paying for.

Man you got scammed I'm sorry. Your ulam for meat should be between 50 to 70 and 30 to 50 for veggies. I hate it when pinoys scam foreigners.
@PureDetour2 ай бұрын
I appreciate that, but I feel It's not a scam. It's Aling Sosing's, you're paying for their brand. And all things being relative, it is still great prices by western standards. Everybody else there paid the same amounts I did. How do I know? Because the table I sat at was right next to the cash out table and I overheard every bill that was being paid. And just an FYI, they do have ulam menu items that are in the 80 price range I just chose more expensive ones. I also tipped the girl another 250 pesos.
