Last year, we were invited to spectate and witness an iconic event in the fishing community of Singapore! An epic fishing competition happened in the city of Singapore at a location where fishing is usually strictly not allowed! Here's what happened at luring by the bay 2019!

Awesome video brother. Superb community event there and fun fishing action from one of my bucketlist countries to fish. The fishing opportunities seem great - fishing licenses, more legal areas etc..many possibilities that can be worked on together. I thought peacock bass is native to the amazon river.. how come it turn up in singapore ?

It was illegally brought in to Singapore, initially kept at ornamental pets. But people probably gave up or realised they no longer like it. So they release it in our local waters. These things breed extremely fast and grow really quickly. To make things worst, amglers practice releasimg of the fish. Regardless of sport or substancial fishing, it is released for its poor taste. Releasing fish is a very good thing, just that if everyone releases it, these fishes keep growing to really big sizes and i know i might sound like i dont support fish release, but i strongly feel releasing fish should only be for Native Species

All the rivers, lakes and reservoirs belong to Singaporeans, who should not be treated like a thief when he fish for peacock bass. It is the Govt duty to regulate for safety. You can fine us, but ought you ban us? Are we not your employer, and you civil servants, our employees?
