Ultimately, CFIs build flight time teaching students and then move on to the airlines once they meet hiring requirements. This is a great question! Earning a CPL at Epic Flight Academy does not automatically grant someone the authority to work in the United States. To work in the United States, you must have one of the following: - A Permanent Resident Card (also known as a Green Card) - An Employment Authorization Document (work permit) - An employment-related visa which allows you to work for a particular employer Many Epic students from outside of the US will return to their home country to seek employment once they have completed their pilot training at Epic Flight Academy. Every airline has its own set of hiring requirements, and we encourage our students to review a particular airline’s hiring requirements before applying for a First Officer or Captain position. Then, here is the process for joining our academy. To become a trained airline pilot at Epic Flight Academy in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, USA you must: 1) Be at least 17 years of age 2) Speak English proficiently 3) International students must have a valid passport (Passport information: epicflightacademy.com/passports/) or two other forms of identification if you are from the USA 4) Completed high school or secondary education (Grades don't matter, only that you completed school.) If you have the qualifications, please complete this form: epicflightacademy.com/prequalification-enrollment/ You will have completed your PPL and CPL by the end of your training. If you have work authorization in the United States, then you can work for US airlines.
