Epic FREE 7000ft Mountain Park Up | Vanlife SWITZERLAND | GOTTHARD PASS & Exploring ZUG

In May I headed to Switzerland for my first ever experience of Van Life in that amazing country. Starting in Zug, I spent a few days exploring this lovely town on the shores of Lake Zug. The old town is absolutely stunning and there's so much to see and do, loads of places to walk, explore, cycle and experience life in Switzerland. All based from the most amazing campsite directly on the lake shore and just a 20 minute walk from the old town.
After a few days in Zug I hit the road and decided to head up one of the famous Swiss mountain passes - Gotthard Pass. Most people drive through the 16km Gotthard tunnel but the original pass road is more than doable in a camper van and Park4night showed me there was an actual campervan stellplatz/aire at the top! I couldn't resist the opportunity to spend the night 7,000 ft up in the mountains at the summit of the pass.
I thoroughly recommend the Gotthard Pass and there were loads of people staying up there. It was refreshing to know that wild camping (although there's a designated camper spot people were parked up in all sorts of places) is possible in Switzerland and to wake up with a view over the mountains was breathtaking.

what is the lowest tunnel over the pass please,also will i get over the pass in a tag axle 8.83 metre motorhome please ?

I’m not sure to be honest. My van go through ok which is an H2 fiat ducato. I’m sure you’d make it but it was tight in my 5.4m van so could be challenging. Some tight corners lower down.
