I have the exact same feeling when listening to it! it feels like the bass instruments are almost the will of humanit itself in it's desperate struggle, while the chaotic Violins try to bring the cold ever closer, just for the bass to drown everything out... This is probbably the first piece of music that actually physically connected sounds to emotions and to people

In the first, the blind run, watching the storm approaching, and having only seven days to prepare, scouting the last locations and getting as much as posible from Tesla and other settlements for materials,!watching my flying hunters going to get the last food before the storm and thinking. “I’m here fighting chaos, and my only weapon is my tech and the ideology in an uphill battle against Mother Nature”. What and epic way to end.

I beat the game for the first time yesterday night; when the storm finally was over, the clock very poeticly hid midnight. I have cried during several games, but never before I had an experience as intense as beating the New Home scenario, holy smokes, that was a “boss fight” at another level. When the storm hit and I realized that my preparations for MY city now was put to the ultimate test, I litterally felt that I went into survival mode. Eventhough I had several anamatrons working in steam coal mines, I ran out of coal, all I could do the last 48 hours was clicking on the generator like crazy to hold it on just the weakest power. The amputee count rose to 90 out of my population at 400-something, but I made it, and eventhough it diffenitly wasnt elegant it felt like one hell of an achievement. The intensity of this “boss fight” was beyond what I was prepared for, suddenly it wasnt just a game anymore, it leaped to another level that was mind blowing. This score is incredible, too. I came here to see if other people had the same experience, and I wasnt disapointed. This game is pure art.

Мне тоже так показалось, я сам из Воркуты. Сложность выбора, насколько близко к краю, кормить бабушек детьми или детей бабушками, безнадёга и обмороженные шахтеры борящиеся с завалами, лесорубы с фонарями в ночь при -70. Застывшие чумазые бороды, окоченевшие трупы на улице. Тащущие сани с провизией снабженцы, которые если не придут, сдохнут люди. Когда в конечном итоге становится совсем плохо, проявляются люди, которые жмут из себя последние соки, жертвуют собой на благо будущего, а есть паникеры которые бегут как крысы с тонущего корабля.
