I believe that was a dead cicada. I just pulled my dead squash plants. The Squash vine borers killed it.

Oh wow, makes sense. I’ve been seeing their skin everywhere in my garden. Yea, my squash had no chance from those borers smh. I will try harder to protect them next year.

How you tell.a male.from female blossom

The male flowers has a skinny stem that pushes out & has a flower on top. The female flowers have a small bulb at the bottom of the flower. The female flowers look like a tiny cucumber is at the bottom of the flower. I will do a video to visually explain this. Thanks for watching 😊
