This is an epic film that chronicles my 3,000-mile trek along the backbone of America on the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. The trail would take me from the scorching desert to elevations over 14,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains and into Glacier National Park on the Canadian Border. On my journey I experienced injuries, death, rough weather, and equipment failures. Along the trail I ran across a countless number of people and wildlife that would inspire me to complete my journey.
I bring this story to you in the hope that one day you will find the time to experience the "BACKBONE" of our country, the Continental Divide Trail.

@@badgerbob827 plans are going well. All my gear is acquired. It’s a lot easier to plan after doing the PCT in 2020. I wanted to do a thru hike because I love adventure and testing my will. I wanted to live in the mountains for a bit and understand what the poets who wrote about them really meant. I have a second channel called Hiker Larry on KZbin where I’ll be posting more gear videos as well as a daily vlog of my CDT hike.

So far loving the video, too bad u had to road walk so much, the trails when have been more enjoyable to hike on but I know what u mean by altitude sickness, I've been lucky and only have had it twice, I met up with my cousin doing the John muir trail and did from onion valley to whitney portal with him. I got a slight headache when doing forester pass (13,200) and then the next time the last 400 or so feet to the top of Mt. whitney, I was sick to my stomach and my head was pounding, I felt bad because we didn't spend very much time at the top, but u r right, ur view was much better at the top of that mountain, we did a sun rise summit and it was still amazing, thanks for sharing, also I only live at about 200 feet in California so it was a big change for me, I drove half way spent the night at 4,500 then drove to onion valley spent the night there at about 8,000 I think then started hiking

I had a problem with my camera being left at a hotel with my charger, plus some fires. Things aren’t always that easy to document. Especially in that area. I film more than most, thus a lot of card space. I do better now, but still, you run into problems. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Great film, worth your time. As a older guy I can relate to the challenges in this film right down to the bum knee. This is not some romanticized hiker film. If you're considering a long hike/trek you need to watch this so you get the real deal.
