Produced and mixed a song releasing tomorrow using your drum sample pack! We recorded real drums and spent hours trying to make them sound good but I just wasn’t happy with how it was turning out. Then I remembered that I purchased your drum pack mainly to support you but I hadn’t checked out any of the samples yet. I quickly threw the samples into Trigger and it instantly made thousands of dollars of dollars of equipment, mics, cymbals, plugins, etc completely irrelevant. I was completely blown away by the quality and care put into the pack with all the different velocities and everything. 10/10 will absolutely use on every song I produce from here on out

That’s a great idea, I’ve done it before with some artists. The trouble is in the logistics, and copyright/licensing issues. Coordinating the tours between everyone’s schedule is tricky just to do the tour. Almost every tour I do they have to give up paid work they would do to do the shoot, I’m spending money to make the video. Asking someone to make a song for the video makes the logistics trickier, but not impossible. It also limits who is going to do the tour if they have to make a song or give a tutorial on top of the tour. Not to mention I wouldn’t be able to make money from the video anymore. Which would not be the biggest issue in the world if people who watched the video would support the channel via sample pack purchases etc.

Im almost 17 and I’ve been producing for almost a year now. I started playing guitar when I was 14 and instantly I was obsessed with music. I wanted to see and make the bigger picture so I asked for some stuff for my 16th birthday and bought most of it from my own earned money and that’s where I’m producing from right now: an SSL2+ interface, an Akai MPK249 (LE black) midi keyboard and a Mac with logic (also ofcourse guitar gear) I am loving every second of creating!

Austin seems so focused and concise in his approach. His setup is very rooted in hip-hop production with the TLM-103 into the one essential UA outboard box and 808 drum module. It makes me nostalgic for that 90s Dr. Dre sound.

Love the "luxurious, yet compact and concise" layout here! This guy is really similar to myself in my own workflows. Lots of inspiration here! Does anyone know what that stand is that his Moog Subsequent 37 is on? I wanna put my Subsequent 25 directly to the left of me like that (for kicking left hand bass lines at will!), and you need an extra sturdy stand for having a synth just standing in the middle of a space where people might knock it over!

I love the studio vids. I am in the middle of the design process. I have a question about "live room" design. 95% of the live rooms I have found from the 50s to now have hard floors, cement or wood, but EVERTYHING - drums, amps , pianos, you name it has a rug underneath it. With todays technology why not put down something like carpet tiles which has itsw own neoprene backer over the whole room? Pro cons to both?

so my "studio" area is more about instruments and playing than it is about recording or mixing, although those capabilities exist here with aplomb, I don't practice that kind of workflow. I've got a couple chunks of 20"x40" birch ply that make up my desktop, which sit on a Plixio (now called something else) rolling z keyboard stand. on the plywood I have attached a few pole mounts for iLoud micro monitors, a laptop tray and an extension arm for the iPad. underneath it all there's the cutoffs from the plywood, trussed across the lower "feet" of the rolling stand, so I can have a small pedalboard, some midi foot controllers, sustain pedals etc. The goal was to have "everything" (a bunch of things) at one "creation station" which has a single, rather long power cord to the wall, can be wheeled around the space as needed, is modular by design and nature and maintains a "instrument level" barrier of access- meaning that a drummer can walk up to this desk at startup and almost instantly select a sound generator in the OS and touch a control surface and start making sound. So far it seems to really be working! I've already made a few for friends as well, one is being used as the pre-pro/studio B desk in a pro room currently, which is kinda neat.

That room is unfortunately too small. If you need to work with anything sub 40hz. Which, in electronic music is, well, everything. Length of a single wavecycle at 30 hz is what? 11 meters give or take? 10 meters by 9 meters I would say is minimum if you want to avoid all kinds of problems with low end frequencies. But hey, those speakers aren't in danger of producing anything below 55hz so...
