For those who are interested in the game and if you(Orbital) play it again I give a single piece of advise. I won't tell you how to win or best defend yourself as that's part of the fun to learn, however, one part that isn't immediately obvious is that the buildings that make resources, IE stone wood iron, and even berry pickers, fishers, and farmers, need to bring the resource they make back to a stockpile. There is a large one in your keep however if your keep is too far away it will take them some time to walk to it to deposit resources which is time that they are making more. This is why you had food issues, 2 fisher huts should be enough for that population however since there wasn't a granary to put it into nearby they took a lot of time to deliver it. This game Is a lot of fun and on my first several games I got stomped by later waves. The fun part is learning to counter them and getting better at the game. Good luck to anyone who tries!

i can't get past wave 6 in endless mode. i know it's kinda sad😂 but jokes aside. food and my armies are just not strong enough for the waves. do u have any advice for that? or do u need me to give more details

@@1Shinzo It depends on which map you are using, the only one I have had a lot of trouble with is the very last map due to its difficulty, the other maps however aren't too bad. Your first focus should be to get stone/iron to upgrade your keep and make farms and granaries near them. Once you have farms your food issues are over. You can typically survive the first few waves with about 15-20 archers and kiting the enemies around but after wave 4ish you need to make walls to box yourself in. I haven't played this game in a few months so I may have some outdated info. The best strategy is to just keep trying new things.

This game has a great artistical direction. Clearly some work still needs to be done but it's looking very promising.

And in game, there's an option for diplomacy that you can toggle from: OFF, No or IS NOT AN OPTION 😂

Actually this game is more similar to They Are Billions and Age of Darkness. At this point in time, this is basically a separate RTS/survival subgenre, whereas Age of Empires is a typical oldschool RTS. Edit: There is also Cataclismo, which is essentially a next gen of Castle Story (or Stronghold I guess) in this very subgenre, very cool.

This game..... I've bought it a long time ago and the dev is giving everything but actual updates... such a shame. Nothing has been done in so much time, seems it is officially abandoned. If you are planning to buy, don't. It is not worth it.

I bought it a long time ago too but haven’t played in like a year. I keep seeing updates every couple weeks … or at least posts by the devs. The game isn’t actually being updated?

@@alexkaplan1136 There are some updates yes, a few new structures, some new enemy types. What they are referring to is the fact that still only the first two campaign missions are available, and beyond that, the updates provided are exactly substantial.

I'm confused by this comment because, from what I can tell, it's just a lie. The game received a major update about a month ago. They recently announced a release date. They've been regularly updating the game. They regularly do dev diaries to tell you exactly what they are working on. So... no, the game isn't abandoned, what?

This game is 3+ years old and still only has 2 maps..

2 campaign missions* (out of more than a dozen) It has more maps as well as procedurally generated maps for its other modes (Endless & Challenge). But yeah it is still ridiculous that this is all the devs have to show for after 3 years. What annoys me the most is that their "dev updates" were for months them just posting some kind of small story or a poem vaguely related to the game setting. Then they replaced that with several lines worth of a "spoiler" of what the campaign mission they are working on is about, and added short videos. Said videos are animated (or rendered idk) and has speech buubles for the characters, and I kept wondering every time that surely the amount of time and resources spent on those videos would have been better to speed up development? Its like drip feeding info in to a drip feed. This game in its current state is 100% *not* worth its €21 price tag. Especially compared to competitors like say Cataclismo (€30). Even with a 50% sale I would not recommend buying the game, if only to not reward this kind of behaviour.
