So where do you think the future of "Personal Videography" is headed? Are we going to see more cameras like the DJI Osmo Pocket 3?

Good talking. Sensor size matter for sure. Have a same ZVe10 with Crane 3, did used from beginning but almost never now because of size. For clips my favorite Insta360 One inch 360 cam, But for photo ZVe10 with; Sony 15mm F1,4; Sigma 56 F1,4 and Sony 70 - 350 my Gold Trio .

Nice! I'm also frustrated that the Crane m3 can't control the ZV-E10 without the Bluetooth adapter and I don't like their app for doing motion lapses. But it's great for stabilization.
@alexgoriatchenkov Жыл бұрын
@@TimBrownTown In my experience is OK for stabilization (not ideal as Insta 360 cam) , and best with 15mm Sony...For control using Sony Bluetooth remote, screws in Crane 3 handle bottom.

Good stuff Tim. That ZV-E10 footage is great! Curious to see the DJI next to it. From what I've seen online it still suffers quite a bit in low light but I'm sure that can be cleaned up pretty nicely.

Thanks Noi! Yeah, to me neither the GoPro nor Pixel 8 are usable in lowlight except in short scenes mixed in with better footage. I will definitely be doing a comparison with the Pocket 3 when it comes in. I remember debating between the ZVE 10 and the zv1 and still going back and wondering if I made the right choice. With the Pocket 3 being a 1 inch f/2 sensor on a compact gimbal, it makes it pretty irresistible.

@@TimBrownTown When I saw the Pocket 3 I immediately thought of you and said to myself. This thing is Tim's forever camera haha. I thought about getting it as well TBH, but I'm pretty happy with my current setup. If I go on another long vacation I may pick it up. I find the ZV-E1 still a bit too big to be convenient.
@TimBrownTown Жыл бұрын
@@noisackda2564 that's interesting about the ZV-E1. That's still my dream camera at the moment though. I really enjoyed content and comparisons on the Pocket 3 from another small, honest youtuber @travelingahn who you see in the comments here. From what I saw from his latest, if you keep the ISO under 1600 it's still bright and looks really, really good.
@noisackda2564 Жыл бұрын
@@TimBrownTown Yeah the funny thing about the ZV-E1 is that dynamic active is good only if you move in a straight line. As soon as you turn it goes from super smooth to a hard ramp that to me, looks worse than if the entire footage was a little shaky. I think the pocket 3 looks fine. I just find it a little clinical and boring from an image quality standpoint. If I got it I would color-correct the crap out of it. You know me though haha.
@TimBrownTown Жыл бұрын
@@noisackda2564 Man, you are so good at color grading! That's good to know about the dynamic active stab. It had me thinking that if you're cropping in 30% on a full frame sensor, you're almost back to APS-C as well. So if DJI or someone else is able to put an APS-C sized sensor on a Gimbal, it's game over. Check out @NikoBols latest video where he compares the ZV-E1 to the Pocket 3.

Amazing comparison.!

That was helpful. I'll probably just take the Pixel 8 pro already and supplement it with my older APS C cam

Glad I could help and yes, it completely depends on what you are doing/filming. I ended up filming my disney trip (posted to KZbin a few months ago) almost exclusively with the Pixel 8 Pro. The video starts out with my Pocket 3 which is the best for car vlogs. Lately, I have been using the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 the most. I have several videos on it, but no comparisons after they updated the auto focus twice. An APS-C camera with a fast lens usually will beat it out in low light video quality though but you almost have to use a gimbal if you're moving around with it.

Hey Tim, nice work on the comparisons! Certainly the ZVE-10 wins, but I agree that the wide angled Pixel 8 on the back of the phone works very nice! The Audio sounded good except for the GoPro. That stinks that you bide your time till the 22nd, but it will be worth the wait!
@TimBrownTown Жыл бұрын
I thought the GoPro sounded decent, but I'll have to listen more closely. I usually use the media mod and add a shotgun mic but I thought the internals sounded pretty good and I wanted to try it again with the foam windsock I bought and wind reduction turned off. I also want to test out the ultra wide on the P8 in lowlight more. I didn't realize it was so good for vlogging (for a cellphone). This was the first time I used the normal/movie picture profile with no color grade in the ZV-E10. I may do a version 2 of this testing just the P8 ultra wide and the ZV-E10 using the Cine2 picture profile and the Leeming Lut I purchased. Kind of a winner's circle. If so, the winner of that can take on the Pocket 3 when I get it.
@TravelingAhn Жыл бұрын
Nice, I heard about the Leeming Lut, so I'll have to check that out! @@TimBrownTown

Thanks. Poor GoPro is a bit lost here. Pixel may be a good compromise.

Oh, forgot to mention that I like the Thumbnail and Title! That's something I'm not good at, but need to get better. Also condolences to the lost film footage from the old days. I'm fortunate because we converted our 8mm and 16mm film as well as our old betamax VHS footage. Not all was salvaged, but a decent amount. At least your son will have good saved memories to pass on!
@TimBrownTown Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Dude, you have to get Canva! I made that thumbnail in about 5 minutes by using bgremover (background remover) and a template. As far as the old footage, I still have the originals VHS so one day I might go back and see what else I can salvage. I'm not so sure about the Betas and 16mm film though. I'll have to look at my Dad's places.
