The MiG-35 two-seat multifunctional frontline fighter is designed to engage air targets in any weather, day or night, destroy moving and fixed ground (surface) targets, as well as to facilitate in-flight training of flying personnel.
The MiG-35 can effectively accomplish a variety of missions, including combat air patrol, air target interception, escort of attack and military transport aircraft, striking against ground targets, air support of ground troops and landing forces, battlefield air interdiction and aerial reconnaissance.
The fighter carries modern targeting and navigation system, quadruple redundant fly-by-wire flight control system, radar and optical locating systems, helmet-mounted targeting and display, communications and self-defense equipment, cockpit instrumentation and other aids that working together provide high flight safety, effective use of weapons, as well as precise navigation. Its arsenal includes short and medium-range air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles, guided aerial bombs, unguided rockets and bombs, and an internal gun. Owing to a wide range of weapons coupled with its excellent flight performance, the MiG-35 offers high combat effectiveness.

It has quite a presence compared to the 29! You could also be noticing the absence of trim drag, since this jet has relaxed static stability.

@@Airguardianthat is something I noticed as well. The vapor filaments around the wings or buffering is not as intense on this aircraft in high load maneuvers. Could be how the wings are designed.

This is a pedigree aircraft and is, indeed, in full production as of October 2024. With the co-development of the YAK 'Baby Sukhoi' it is apparent that the Mig-35 will be a mainstay AD plane for Russia and CIS but also aimed at export without US style software strings on the unitary model. Crew safety is a hallmark of Mikoyan and the unusually capacious cockpit seems to confirm speculation that the 31 will also be a drone controller because there is room for 3 crew and it has a larger version of the 'titanium bathtub' ejection pod with its own parachutes as a unit and separate ejection of crew where needed. This has been a long term development between Mikoyan, Sukhoi and Beriev now using the Yakovlev name. This is a very exciting time for evolutionary aviation in Russia, based on the tried and tested 'family' design model. Nothing flies until it is ready and able to without risks. Losing an airframe is unfortunate but losing highly trained airmen is not the Russian way. Great filming as usual.

Sort of. I read an initial batch of 24 was ordered for testing within the VKS. So Production won't ramp up until after they emit a veredict I guess, but those 24 are serial units already.
