Fast, agile and aggressive flight demo of a russian MiG-35 fighter aircraft performed by Stanislav Gorbunov at MAKS 2013, using smoke trails!
This video was shot over 10 years ago but it has now been re-edited to offer an improved viewing experience with a better image quality, hope you appreciate it!!
The MiG-35 two-seat multifunctional frontline fighter is designed to engage air targets in any weather, day or night, destroy moving and fixed ground (surface) targets, as well as to facilitate in-flight training of flying personnel.
The MiG-35 can effectively accomplish a variety of missions, including combat air patrol, air target interception, escort of attack and military transport aircraft, striking against ground targets, air support of ground troops and landing forces, battlefield air interdiction and aerial reconnaissance.
The fighter carries modern targeting and navigation system, quadruple redundant fly-by-wire flight control system, radar and optical locating systems, helmet-mounted targeting and display, communications and self-defense equipment, cockpit instrumentation and other aids that working together provide high flight safety, effective use of weapons, as well as precise navigation. Its arsenal includes short and medium-range air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles, guided aerial bombs, unguided rockets and bombs, and an internal gun. Owing to a wide range of weapons coupled with its excellent flight performance, the MiG-35 offers high combat effectiveness.

Nice video as always. Never seen this jet before so I’m not entirely familiar with it, seems like a better version of the 29.

Thanks! That's exactly what it is. A slightly larger surface MiG-29 with a new internal structure design, reinforced landing gear, AESA radar and new avionics plus some new aerodynamic redesigns.

Yes....only the info inside cockpit is better than mig 29, pilot is strong to keep It at slow show... Is amazing ❤❤

Миг - 29 маневрировал более круче чем тридцать пятый . Потежелел Миг - 35 , даже на форсаже не может сделать полный разворот быстрее чем его придщтвенник . Спасибо за интересное видео . 😎

Может быть, но он есть другое характеристики. МиГ-31 помедленнее чем МиГ-25, но даже так, 31 отличные аппарат ;)

This aircraft is at the moment the best solution for Russia, given its characteristics and the price of the aircraft as well as the speed at which Russia can produce these aircraft this would be the best response to the F 16, especially since it has the ability to put everything necessary from the most new technologies on it. It essentially has an open architecture which means it can be used for a lot of things like anti-electronic combat all the way to bombers and 4+ generation fighters, and most importantly it can use all the new missiles that Russia is currently using.

to my knowledge the mig-35 is, like the f-16, a versatile machine but, compared to a fighter like the Su-35S, significantly limited in radar size, payload and range. Since the size of russian territory, should they ever need a fleet of light fighters I think they'll just invest more on the Su-75, which at least is supposed to have a similar range to a heavy fighter. instead, as an export product it would be on par or maybe even better than the f-16 but, since the US actively pressures every potential customer into giving up, I find unlikely that it will be produced in large numbers.

@@grey_ghost0160 There are at least 1,000 F-16s in NATO countries that highlight resources and there are also many pilots who should retire in a couple of years, if we look at the western picture a little better part of the elite who supported the Nazis are mostly the richest people and that's the part that wants to rule the world and it's been planned for a very long time. I think it all started in the 1990s when NATO divided Yugoslavia and since then the standard has risen sharply in the EU, which means that the Nazis this time did not spend money on the occupation of Europe. But they made the EU much more attractive for all those countries that went to Russia in WW1 and WW2, and today after 35 years of good life they don't really care about that people and are not at all interested in distributing pensions to some officers who did nothing and did well. This should have been thought about when entering NATO because then they surrendered their sovereignty. And for that reason I think they're going to give 16 or 24 F 16 to Ukraine who won't be able to do anything because they just don't know that technique and after that very much Soon, NATO pilots will enter Ukraine and for that the Russians need a lot of planes that they know how to work on. The SU 35 will be there anyway but it costs much more and the SU 75 is something new for Russia, the most pilots they have for the MiG-29 or 35 as well as production lines.

@@velimirkolundzija4451 I concur with your point, but there are several other factors to consider: 1. NATO cannot engage head-on with Russia without turning the conflict into a nuclear war. The US in particular only wage war when IMPUNITY is guaranteed for itself and (sort of) its most important allies, and a nuclear war would negate such prerogative. So, NATO is not yet ready to enter this conflict officially, and also this is one of the reasons they used ukraine instead for a proxy war. 2. most of those f-16 you mentioned are owned by the US and I suppose they are being decommisioned as we speak to make room for the F-35, which, while not perfect, is way more capable in every way. While the F-35 will probably never be "gifted" to ukraine, I think its better for Russia if they adapt to counter it quickly, because there are almost a thousand of them in service. This may be one reason for the Su-75's creation. 3. of course, you're right: the mig-35 possibly costs less than everything Sukhoi is working on right now, but producing it now would mean take a fair share of budget and production capability (both of which Russia isn't exactly plenty of, at least compared to NATO) to produce a fighter that would, over time, increase the numbers, but it wouldn't add much capability compared to other projects that, while costing more and produced in shorter numbers, may strike with the same strengh but with a much higher survivability rate and a greater range. This may be the reason for which Russia mostly uses Su-35S' and MIG-31BMs in ukraine to engage other aircrafts: because they are much better at operating in BVR than the mig-29, which to date has barely, if at all, been used in this conflict.

Based comments! Love it when people debate topics with respect! :) I'll add my grain of salt: We can't rule out an all out war between east and west, because despite the good judgement of actual military leadership on both sides (not talking about the disgusting PR heads), there seems to be a group of elites, hell bent on ruling the world, which consider there is currently just too many people in the world and are desperate to spark and ignite this war, the way I see it. Of course, it's a totally demented course of action, but thinking it can't possibly happen will not help in preventing WW3. As for the jets themselves, I think it's pretty clear Russia has favoured the use of Flankers thanks to their longer range and reliability (up until recent, MiG-29 engines needed to be replaced every 600h or so, while Sukhoi engines are closer to the 2000h mark if I'm not mistaken). The air force seems to like them better, as it better fulfils their requirements. Then again, you may not need that much range to cover a particular area of your territory, namely, the one in which you are most likely to get attacked, so the MiG-35 could have a use there. Plus it's the only russian jet with AESA radar so far other than the Su-57, which is considerably more expensive. With all that in mind, Russia is growing as an economy now, so I guess it won't be long before they start putting resources into making MiGs again, even if the focus is still on the Sukhoi jets. I also think that we will likely start seeing other birds mass produced first, such as the S-70 Ohotnik, as that one may pose a revolution to air superiority, compared to more traditional jet designs. The Su-75 is still too young to talk about it seriously, and the russians only seemed to be interested in the project in case they managed to secure external funding and foreign partners so... keep waiting I guess!

It's about the same size, but with larger wing surface and volume. The undercarriage is also more robust.

The only MiG to ever feature canards was the MiG 1.44 prototype. You must be getting confused with the Su-35 prototype, which featured them like the Su-37, but which the final mass production version got rid of them.

@@grey_ghost0160No, I didn't, but I did wonder if it was a Sukoi or Mig mixup. I only know that I built a flat fomey with the canards, which was a 35; without canards, it was another number.

Because it's untested yet. Once the russians start using it in numbers, we will probably see their exports grow accordingly. Anyway, many MiG-29M2s and 29Ks have been exported, which are essentially the very same jet except for a few differences in avionics and gear.

Actually, a number of them have already been delivered to the RuAF for testing I hear. So if the AF delivers a good verdict on them, I guess we'll see orders ramp up.
