I still don't get why everyone thinks Nintendo is going to shut down tomorrow. If you look at most of the things that Microsoft and Sony did it's because Nintendo did it first. Sony wouldn't have gone into portable gaming if Nintendo didn't do it first. MS and Sony probably wouldn't have done the kinect and move if the Wii didn't make mad bank. Also we have smart glass and touch pad controllers now because nintendo did it first. Granted they aren't always successful, but Nintendo is the most different thing out there right now.

yes nintendo are innovative, but that isnt helping them in their sales, before Mario Kart 8 their sales where horribly low affecting the company, thankfully Mario Kart 8 helped them increasing their sales by 600%, maybe Smash Bros Wii U will help them even more

What might help Nintendo is if they make some new game titles that are separate from their big sellers. You can milk the Zelda fans all you want but you'll start turning the franchise into Call of Duty and we know how disastrous that would be for Nintendo. Not to mention they need to stop going into the mobile devices franchise too much and start going back into consoles. Mario is a great franchise but it's time to create a new one. I hope the best for Nintendo because if they come back and start pushing the bar up again it will force Sony and Microsoft to innovate and that will help all customers who want better for their games.

Press_Start2Continue Both Pokémon and Smash brothers are innovative in their own genre, don't get it wrong, innovation doesn't come only in gadgets; that said, the Wii was the best sold console despise its hardware limitations, just for the innovation. Ryan Amberger Yeah some games like Perfect Dark had a online feel like 4-Players and 8-A.I. mix matches similar to TitanFall, Medals and XP. I think Perfect Dark is the first game or FPS to have a Raking up system. Turok 3 and Rage Wars had the same thing, but I don't think there was a Raking system.

The thing I like about Nintendo is that they have more exclusives than the competition. Most of the games you get for the PS4 and Xbox One you can just get for the PC (which most of the time is the better version). There is nothing that really sets the PS4 and Xbox apart. I think that even though the WII U has worse graphics it has a better selection of exclusives and a better reason to by the console

Nintendo doesn't even stand a chance. They don't have games like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Killzone, GTA and Grand Torismo. All they have is games like Pikmin, Zelda, Mario Kart, Metroid… if they want to stay in the game they need more fun and creative titles that's not just the same thing rehashed over and over again.

Actually, if you played these new Mario games, you would realize that all of them have changed greatly. So did Metroid, and Zelda, and Kirby, and Donkey Kong, and even Pokemon. And they have Bayonetta and a number of first person shooters. Have you heard of Cave Story? Also a lot of fun. They have a number of great games, it's just that people like you won't take their heads out of Sony and Microsoft's asses long enough to see.

thefilmdirector1 I kind of feel sorry for all the Nintendo fans that can't find a good website where they actually enjoy themselves. It kind of sucks that they are stuck on KZbin and IGN (probably the WORST fucking places for a Nintendo fan). I hope that one day, all this gutless bashing of Nintendo will finally shut up. I don't understand why it's the popular thing to do, and I never will. Either way, this is exactly why I stick to websites that actually have a good Nintendo fanbase.

If this comment even helps boost sales, then I say: Don't listen to the people who have bad talked about the Wii U......... I was one of those people at one point... And I completely regret it... Because the Wii U is truthfully a fantastic console. I play it more than my PS3 and I'm about to play it a hell of a lot more thanks to Smash. If anyone is unsure about what they would like to get for Christmas, I would highly recommend the Wii U with games like Smash Bros (local with friends), Wind Waker HD (solo), Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (online with voice chat), Mario Kart 8 (local with friends), and so much more. The Wii U is fantastic... Nintendo's console this year is the real deal in my honest to god opinion.

One note about 2010 that needed to be mentioned was Donkey Kong Country Returns. It was the first brand new DKC game since 1996. If not for Kid Icarus returning, it might've been considered the best surprise title. Of course the 3DS needed that first game to get people talking, and Pit's romp was it.

Interesting to read all the doom and gloom about Nintendo because of the Wii U's failure 7 years later. They did a complete 180 with the Switch and seem unstoppable. I wonder if they're going to just keep making different variations of the Switch or do another weird console again after. I'm guessing they'll be less willing to take risks after the Wii U. Very interested to see!
