The description totally threw me off this video. Unless you're going to eat whatever bear you shoot, but I doubt that. Hunting for the sole purpose of getting a thrill and then having a picture taken with your 'kill' - even having a trophy made out of it - is mental.
@TimG10897 жыл бұрын
you understand that animals like these are apex predators right? They have no natural predators in the wild and if they are left unchecked their population will continue to grow until it gets out of hand and causes a number of problems. No one is talking about hunting predators that are anywhere near extinction... there's a reason why there are very strict regulations on what you can hunt, when you can hunt it, and how many you can hunt. There are areas where there is an abundance of bears and wolves and it is not only legal to hunt them but it is encouraged. Other areas have a very limited number of tags that are given out, and other areas prohibit bear or wolf hunting. It all depends on how the population is doing. Personally, I am against trophy hunting and hunting for sport and I believe that if you are going to kill an animal you should use every bit of that animal that you can. Hunting for food and for population control is perfectly fine as far as I'm concerned. Also, hunting is by far the most ethical form of meat consumption. It completely boggles my mind when I hear someone condemning someone for hunting, yet they are perfectly fine with buying meat from their local grocery store. Not saying that you are one of those people, I'm just making a point... most people who eat meat have an extreme disconnect with where their meat comes from.

Valerio Della Casa So do many people. Nothing stays alive without killing something else and eating it. Even vegans have to kill plants (just another lower form of life). I am assuming then that you are a vegan? If you are an omnivore, then you just pay someone else to do the killing for you.
@JCPJok3r7 жыл бұрын
+Mike Betts Hunting to survive is cool bro. Hunting for fun, not so much, its completely unnecessary. Same thing with animal farming
@mikebetts20467 жыл бұрын
Ever watch cats or orcas hunt for fun? So if I hunt to survive, am I then obligated to not enjoy it? I think you do not understand the motivations if a great many hunters. Sure, there are people that will shoot animals en masse and never use the harvest but most of the hunters I know do it for both food and to satisfy the primal drive to go out and provide in this primitive way. Not much different than a well-fed cat still going out an killing a bird or mouse. It's what makes them tick. Do you have a basis for why people should be different?

Thank you so very much for sharing your experience. To be in their presence is a gift. To witness all that they are is beautiful. I have been lucky to be in their presence when we were living in Alaska . We lived in Alaska for 15 years. We returned to Washington in 2012. Being among the wolves in the wild is an experience that one is unable to explain to others. Kudos for being a better human than most other humans. We are losing the remaining wild wolfpack in Denali. The Toklat pack is being killed off one at a time by poachers that do not respect hunting laws. Alaska Fish & Game are NOT helping at all. More moose are being killed in Alaska by humans than by any wolf pack. Humans hit them with vehicles like cars, truck and snowmobiles, they get hit by the only train system in Alaska, and by poachers than any wolfpacks can take down. You would think that there are limitless wolves in Alaska, but there isn't. They have been over hunted endlessly. Again, thank you for sharing this. I am ever so glad that I got to see this.... :)

Beautiful video, but it leaves me confused. I'm not a hunter AND I'm an animal lover. (I've protected wild boars during hunting season so you can imagine I'm not super rational when it comes to saving animals in the moment) so I don't understand how you can be so amazed and gentle with one wild majestic animal and purposefully and in a premeditated way, kill another majestic wild animal? It's not a dig, I'm genuinely curious :)

Hunters appreciate the beauty of nature and understand that we too are part of that nature. Just as wolves prey on deer and other animals, so do we. True hunters don't kill for the sake of killing, every time we kill an animal it's too serve a purpose. Why kill a wolf when we can't really use them for anything? Personally I don't kill them out of respect because they're fellow hunters in my eyes. As for wild boars, they're highly destructive pests and are quite dangerous even to humans.

Eric Reed Ah okay, I understand! Thank you :) Not the sort of hunters I've come across then! Though my experience is limited to the south of France only, as you can imagine I don't mingle with hunters usually. Only because we have so much land do we come across hunters who keep trying to hunt on our land even though they're not allowed to -.- As for the wild boars, they are super aggressive once they're older, I've never been attacked luckily but they do eat all our vineyards!
@kelhawk17 жыл бұрын
I am impressed by, and appreciate your non judgemental approach to this typically over emotional subject. I used to try to run over any animal that crossed the road in front of me, except skunks of course. Even then I would stop and shoot them if I had the opportunity. Then my wife who would catch bugs in the house and let them go outside happened. Fifteen years after her death I've slowly morphed into having a hard time killing anything that Loves, but continue to bowhunt deer for the sake of my three dog family. I hate feeding them nothing but cereal, and as a carnivore shouldn't they have the "right" to eat species appropriate food? The proper answer to your question would require volumes, plus the realization that all creatures have an eternal consciousness of "being", and that Life in bodies is a temporary illusion. Life before and after death of the body, is known as Eternity. In an "Ultimate Reality" test, non-physical reality trumps temporary physical reality. Do you think prey species come forth in this physical plane *not knowing* what's in store for them? Do you think they die a peaceful death, or normally get sick, weak and eventually eaten alive?

They are not pathetic and people are assuming the bear population is getting bigger when it’s not. Humans are taking over wildlife and land that used to belong to them but they don’t have as much space as they used to do they come into “our land” to try to find food. They aren’t harmful until they feel threatened. I’m fine if he kills bears it’s not my business. You shouldn’t disrespect animals because we are animals too.
