Love a New York travel day. We have done it 3 times now and if it’s just the two of you with hand luggage you might aswell grab the subway from the airport. So much cheaper and actually a little quicker to get to manhattan. 💪

We loved empire state building when we went , first time it took me 20 mins to go to the edge of the viewing platform to look out/over as I’m scared of heights 😂 the experience looks totally different now , we entered the lifts just to the left of main reception on the three occasions we visited, but that was 20 years ago lol

I went to NYC 20 years ago in the October, was incredible then, and very Christmassy even that early in the year. I just got back from Tenerife, I was a little gutted you and Laura weren’t around as it would have been nice to meet you both after watching your videos and learning a lot about Tenerife for our 1st time visit. The most cost-effective way to get from Newark airport to Manhattan is by train from the airport. . A ticket from the airport to Penn station is around $13 . You can then either walk to your hotel if it's only a few blocks or take a short Uber or taxi ride.

Tolls are def expensive from NJ to NYC. Next time catch NJT (New Jersey Transit) from EWR to Penn Station. Then you can take the subway close to where your hotel is located or you can catch a cab/Uber from Penn station directly to the hotel (train will be cheapest but can be a bit much weight luggage and crowds).

for anybody that uses that lounge at Tenerife, there is another part that opens up to make it twice as big when it is busy, you can stock up in F&B too for the flight, i get access through my BA Status, but it's a good place to relax.

I use to play ice hockey here in the UK, great fun. As laura asked and andrew yes you were right they are allowed to change players constantly to keep game moving quickly fresh legs all the time go on skate 2 mins or so maximum efford then change. 5 players per team + 1 goalie you can pull the goalie off for an extra skater for a better chance of scoring. Just have to be good at defending this normally happens last few mins of a game if equalising or down a point to catch up/ get ahead.

And iPhone tip/hack, it’s better to turn on the time zone setting to turn on automatically and once your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or the mobile cellular it will change the time zone automatically so you don’t have to do it manually 😊

What’s interesting about landing in Newark is that you’ve got every mode of transportation within 1/2 mile of each other - air, cars, rail and ocean. You could see it out the window as they landed.

Andrew - I live in Washington DC and I've also visited and worked in Manhattan over the years and return toll charges from EWR into the City is normal. They basically charge you for the return tolls for the driver going back to NJ (EWR)

Thanks for the vlog Andrew and Laura. We went to New York in March 2001 for ST Patrick Day, and it was fab the paredes were awesome. The Empire State building was totally different u just went in paid at the desk went throught into the gold lifts to the top and the shop was tiny . At night it was lite in green 💚 for paddy day . Weather it snowed the wk before got really mild the weekend we were there didnt need the winter coats then the next wk it snowed 😢
