This is not a good guy. People pay for front row seats in the stands, and this guy runs down walkways across sections, cuts in front of them to squeeze between the person and the fence right in front of them, and steals a ball. Just because he didn't bowl the person over doesn't mean it isn't a garbage move; it is. This happened in Boston, theres video proof. He thinks he makes up for it by giving foul balls to kids; no kid on this earth would choose getting a ball handed to them by a 44 year old scumbag over catching a ball off a bat from a major league player. Zack Hample is the definition of a garbage human being who makes the game worse for everyone around him.

7:26 Exactly my stance. I don't chase foul balls etc., I don't try for autos, simply getting the chance to talk with a player and get to know the person is what I want. I heard bullpen pitcher for the Royals (my team) Josh Staumont likes Pokemon and collects cards, well one game I showed up with a pack and tossed him it, we got to chat for a minute and he gave me a ball. Not my goal but now I get to add him to my book. The Dodgers were in town semi recently and I got to show Justin Turner my sign which read, "Justin Turner, I can beat you at Catan." (it's a board game) and he read the sign, smiled and shook his head no and we had a moment and that is way more valuable to me than a signed ball. Different perspectives and that's okay. Glad you had that interaction Zack.

I met Donnie baseball in 1991 at Yankee stadium before the game and we took an awesome picture . He continues to be my favorite player/manager. So fast forward 31 years and i just got him to sign that picture when the marlins came to Tampa earlier this year. I’m a die hard rays fan but I’ll always root for wherever he is.

The sound in that stadium is horrible! I tried watching that game live on tv and couldn't stand it. My wife says I'm just weird but to me, it sounds like they are playing in an indoor pool. Story. So I lived just outside of Nashville Tennessee for a number of years and I worked at a Panera Bread for a while. Because I would always scan people's Panera cards I would see what people's names were. I remember having a regular customer with the last name Mattingly. I grew up going to baseball games so every time I saw this guy it always made me think of Don Mattingly. But for the longest time I never brought it up to the guy. Then one day I said heck it and I asked him, "Ya know, I've never asked you but I've always been curious....do you have any relation to Don Mattingly the baseball player?" And he says, "Oh yeah thats my cousin". Random. But Mattingly related. 🤷‍♀️

Donnie Baseball. There are quite a few HOFers that weren't as good as Mattingly. I know his peak was short-lived but from 84-87 he was the best hitter in baseball and his glove at first was only approached by the great Keith Hernandez. They both should be in the HOF based on players let in the last five years.
