I'm a D&D player myself and i can just imagine the BBEG being a heretic who twisted the words of his god, claiming to be the one true prophet of that god. In his eyes, the party is commanded by demons to halt his plans to cleanse the world, when in reality his plans have caused demons to rise from hell in the first place. And so, in the temple of his god, he asks that his god bears witness as he slays the 'demon thralls' before him, so that he can become the saviour of man. Roll Initiative.

My plan for the final battle against the Planetar is that you fight him in a desecrated temple, then everyone gets pulled into the underworld and the Planetar becomes a Demon Prince. Still trying to find a killer track for the Demon Prince phase, but I haven't found anything that screams "final battle against a giant fukkin demon"

I've an idea for a D&D campaign based on time travel, where the main antagonist essentially harnessed temporal energy, ripping holes in the time stream that the adventurers travel through to get to different ages, but using this energy the antagonist essentially rises to godhood. No, this is not the boss theme for him. This is the boss theme I envision for the archbishop of his church. Only thing I have planned for the boss is that he gets multiple initiative counts due to his deity bestowing him with temporal power.

@@kingstewie01 I don't think we got his name but me as a druid, my friend as a sorcerer, my other friend as a warrior, and lastly a paladin. We were very ready to fight this boss as I got a new dog with me thanks to an amazing roll. We fought for quite a while as we just bad rolls but at final hit on me, I rolled a crit for my dog and the dog just won as we barely got out alive.

My character(Gold Dragonborn Paladin) was basically knocked on his ass after losing half his HP to a goblin assassin whose attack met my AC (19) then went down to a Bugbear Chieftain and proceeded to crit fail my death save. Our fighter then crit failed two unarmed strikes in a row with action surge against the Bugbear Chieftain, all while our bard almost became Worg dinner because my fire breath prior to going down didn't do enough damage to kill it. Luckily no one died, but that was a terrifying experience to go through in your second dungeon

We have arrived in the throne room in the nick of time. The bridge that connects the cathedral and the Dark Lord’s quarters has completely collapsed, rendering us unable to go back the way we came should we ever come out alive. I wanted to worry about that later because all that mattered to me right now was scanning the room for my brother. It didn’t take long for us to locate his body, but the condition he was in set off an alarm for me. The good news was that he was alive, but he was the furthest thing from okay. He looked nearly skeletal because he had been sucked dry like a soft container of tooth polish and worst of all, his skin was nearly blue. I ran over to him and called to his name, but he was barely responsive. I was close to tears and tried to tell him that I was so sorry for everything that I had put him through. Unfortunately, all I could manage to mutter was, “Brother… I am sorry. I can’t…no…you can’t die now! I am here to…” I did not have time to finish my sentence nor mourn any longer. Before I knew it, a vampire that donned a king’s crown and an infantry’s armor approached me to pat my shoulder. The rest of my four compatriots were speechless, but they were on their guard because they know who he is. “You have my condolences, child.” He told me. “It’s too bad that you will have to join him soon.” “What the heck are you talking about!?” I could feel myself becoming frantic. “He’s not dead!!! I can still hear him breathe.” “That is correct.” The vampire explained to me. “He’s not dead yet and there is still breath escaping his mouth. On the other hand, death doesn’t always have to be immediate. Under most circumstances, the dead will breathe slower and slower and heartbeats grow fainter. Any minute now, his life force will expire.” I held my brother’s hand and began to weep. One of my compatriots drew her ancestor’s sword at the vampire and took about six steps closer. “If you plan to drain his blood too, you won’t have any of yours left!” She spoke. “We bear the strength and sorcery needed to force you to repent!” The vampire cackled while he gave my shoulder a soft squeeze. “Do you now, dear?” He asked. “I do not answer to deities nor mortal children like yourself. Why you choose to accompany this man to join his brother in the afterlife arouses my curiosity. I’m happy to find out why if only we can be civil.” “Like you should talk, monster.” The youngest of my compatriots told him. “Civility is not in your dictionary thanks to every unforgivable act you have committed.” “Isn’t Romania already suffering enough under the rule of a self-indulgent regime?” Another companion, a Chinese girl we rescued in the castle’s basement, drew her ice-crested sword. “The last thing it needs is another one that’s going to triple the number of innocent lives slaughtered.” I was sniffling when the vampire glared at the girl and smirked after letting out a light cough. “Don’t you see what good the regime has done?” He asked calmly. “Mankind has been given too much freedom since indoctrination ceased to be a top priority. It used to be that they had to believe everything they heard to stay in their place and live a long, healthy life. Who’s to say that we cannot bring it back? Who’s to say that we don’t need another prophet to lead the human race and keep it safe in exchange for their obedience? Why do their young crave revolution so badly? That is why the pure and true have summoned me here to cleanse this world.” The vampire half-raised his hand and conjured up an inferno-like sphere made entirely out of dark magic. My compatriots continued to stand their ground while the vampire squeezed my shoulder. He probably thought I was too grief-stricken to do anything to help them, but a powerful urge awakened inside of me. If my brother were to die today, it shouldn’t have to mean that my compatriots and I will join him without a fight. “They brought me to this world because I am the messiah that they deserved.” The vampire’s voice was slowly rising. “I will rid Terra of the miserable pile of secrets that pollute her with their filth, starting with you five!!! Prepare to DIE!!!!!” I let go of my brother’s hand and kicked the vampire’s lap as hard as I could. He fell to the floor and I pulled out one of my stakes to drive into his heart, however, he drew out a sword of his own to strike me in the chest. I was forced to get off of him quickly lest he would stab me. I had to use my sword to protect myself against his second slash. The vampire and I were locked in an intensive swordfight shortly before my four companions deemed it fit to join in and boy, were they ready to defend me. The British sorceress summoned a Cerberus-like creature from her spellbook, the orphaned boy cracked the whip that I let him borrow, the Chinese girl prepared to conjure up a small hailstorm, and the Ottoman rebel raised his sword to summon a giant boulder above his head as if by magic. The vampire felt so threatened by our power that he began to make use of his otherworldly power by transfiguring into his sword into an ominous-looking claymore that contained two skulls and a pair of small phoenix feathers. I had a gut feeling that such a weapon would most likely serve the Devil well. At that moment, I knew all along that he was the Dark Lord. He was the one who instructed that vampire woman to woo my brother and keep him alive to the brink of death. He planned to kill him in front of me to traumatize me to the point where I can’t fight back and neither I nor my compatriots will let it happen! We looked at death straight in the eye and decided that whatever it takes, we were going to keep our word and banish the Dark Lord from whence he came.

The Dark one leads his army to the castle of the evil empress. They have the element of surprise, but they are massively outnumbered. This isn’t a problem, because the Dark One is as the name implies. His soul is the purest black, his magic overpowers that of any other, he is as evil as evil can be. The price of this dark magic? He places it on the People’s he captures, thereby crushing his opposition. The empress looks out into the horizon at the coming storm, and sees giant fireballs racing toward her castle from the Far hill, and raises the alarm. She too has magic, though not as powerful. She places a defensive shield around her castle, and that blocks the fire. The troops are given the command to defend the castle at all costs, and uses her magic to boost the abilities of her generals. The troops stand at the ready to defend their kingdom, and here comes the attacking army, firing more fiery projectiles. The Dark One commands his troops to charge through the shield, because he created a soft spot with his magic. The troops rush in and immediately, the casualties are raising rapidly, as each man fights his hardest. After a long fought battle, the first castle defense is broken, and the Dark One is provided safe passage in. He tells his troops to keep the Empress’ knights occupied while he takes the Dark Guard and storms the interior of the castle, looking to end the life of the Empress. He leaves no man, woman, or child in the Castile alive, and pushes through until the interior of the castle is empty, except for one room in the far western tower. The Empress is found, and immediately kills the Dark Guard with one fell swoop of her hand. The Dark One then launches a magical attack at the empress, and she deflects it. They go back and forth for a while, and the Dark One is actually being weakened. As she closed in on him with the final spell, he grins, flicks his hand, and she is plucked from existence, almost like she was never there. It is over. The Dark One walks out on the balcony and commands his men to stop, and the fighting ceases. He alerts them that the transaction for using so much magic must now be completed, and the army of the empress disappears much the same as she did, in a split second. Their souls will now be given to beings even darker than the Dark One. He laughs, and re enters the castle, ready to murder the next ruler, using his newfound resources...

This is just amazing. I love the pipe organ in general, and that combined with the choir, guitar, and drums make this truly epic. The enemy in the artwork you chose looks to be some sort of demonic knight, and yet I feel like this battle theme should go to a creature much more powerful and enormous, and even more overwhelming to fit this epic music. For this I can see a group of young adventures venturing to an abandoned church. As they tread carefully to the center of the room a magic ring appears on the door. The adventures panic and run to the door only to find its locked. As they look to one another fear takes hold on their souls. The adventures then begin to venture further into the room. At the sides of the room are tall pillars with large intricately designed windows. At the far end of the room is a statue of a tall creature with large ram like horns sprouting from it head. As the adventures near the statue an organ begins to play. A voice then can be heard all around them speaking in an unknown language they can somehow understand it says. "Et qui stare coram me animarum puer coepi usque ad me. Ego judico hoc coetus cum dule fati. si casus summis honoribus post te lucretur. Nunc ergo veni tuum pro nobis fata!" As those words were said the statue starts to crack and begins to move. An epic battle then ensues. (Here is the translation of what it said. You young souls that stand before me have ventured far to see me. I shall judge this group with a dule of fate. if thy succeed you shall gain the adventures crest of honor. I used this as the fight music for Archbishop Andreas in Lies of P. The bishop offered to accept the many wayward alchemists into his city. It bore fruit, it made Krat powerful, rich, protected from the plague, gave it automated armies and wonders. Until the guild went down a darker path, and the city imploded. Andreas had become a corrupt and greedy man by then, but took in refugees as the city burned. A man offered him a way to rid himself of the alchemists who he blamed for the city's collapse. He wanted to go back to before the corruption, before his mistakes. The left hand of god the stranger called it. It was a lie. It ripped through the cathedral and mutated everyone including the bishop. He slipped into a delusional state, driven by hunger and delusion. So. P has to put him down.
