Ten years ago, I was in Middle-school, and it was a miserable time for me, for various reasons. Then, in seventh grade, I discovered Tolkien, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Middle-earth, which utterly transported me into a fantastical world that I cannot even begin to find the words, for how I treasure it. This epic story and history has stayed with me even now, past graduation from both High School and College, quite unlike many other stories that I have known over the course of my life. Around that time, I also came across your original version of this song, your earliest work, and that only further immersed me in Middle-earth, I always hummed it in passing in the hallways at school (it helped keep me going even through trying times) and ever since that song, I have been an avid listener of all of your works. To see your quality continue to grow over the years has been a real treasure, and I knew from the beginning that as a group, you are worthy of all the praise and exposure that you deserve. Thank you, Clamavi De Profundis, for ten years of bringing the stories of fantasy, religion, and yuletide spirit to life through song. I wish you the very best to all your works, and that the next ten years will be just as inspiring as the first. A very Merry Christmas to you, and a very Happy Anniversary!

What I loved the most from this version is the new approach to the fragment: "The wind was on the withered heath but in the forest stirred no leaf -There shadows lay by night or day and dark thing silent crept beneath. -The wind came down the mountains cold and like a tide it roared and rolled. -The branches groaned, the forest moaned and leaves were laid upon the mould" Also liked the addition of the little fragments from *_The_* *_King_* *_Beneath_* *_the_* *_Mountains_* From my perspective it feels a lot more rhythmical (some parts if not all the song). I spent around an hour getting used to the new format, for I had the old one stuck in my head from years of singing it.

Happy tenth anniversary, Clamalvi De Profundis! The original version of this song, as well as your interpretation of The Lament For Boromir was how I found your channel in the first place, and I stayed for the Christmas music as well as the new version of The Battle Of Lepanto. You all have done great work. I can see now why most of the lyrics were left out of the movie version of the first Hobbit movie. Thorin and the rest of the Company would have still been singing it the next morning when Bilbo caught up to them after having signed the contract. Tolkien would sure be proud, but he would probably die all over again if he read a bunch of the stories in the Hobbit fandom on certain fan fiction websites, which shall remain nameless. I listen to this song once a month and still love it. I still get chills every time I listen to it, the lyrics are so perfect. The Dwarves of yore made mighty spells While hammers fell like ringing bells In places deep, where dark things sleep In hollow halls beneath the fells Goblets they carved there for themselves And harps of gold; where no Man delves There lay they long, and many a song Was sung unheard by Men or elves The winds were moaning in the night The fire was red, it flaming spread The trees like torches blazed with light The bells were ringing in the Dale And Men looked up with faces pale The dragon's ire more fierce than fire Laid low their towers and houses frail Under the Mountain dark and tall The King has come unto his hall His foe is dead, the Worm Of Dread And ever so his foes shall fall The mountain throne once more is freed O! Wandering folk, the summons heed Come haste! Come haste! Across the waste The King of friend and kin has need Here at the gates the King awaits His hands are rich with gems and gold The King has come unto his hall Under the mountain dark and tall The worm Of Dread is slain and dead And ever so our foes shall fall The Lord Of Silver Fountains shall come into his own His halls shall echo golden to song of yore re-sung Is the Dwarf being depicted at 13:42 Kili? I love the artistic rendering of Thorin at 14:47 with his new armor and cloak. He looks so regal and kingly. Gather round, sons and daughters of Durin, with ale, wine or tea in hand. The time has come once again to honor the fallen. May our King Under The Mountain Thorin Oakenshield and his mighty Company rest forever in Mahal's loving arms until the day comes when we are all reunited with them again.

I don't like this one as much as your other version but I've shared your channel/spotify with many friends and relatives. Your songs compliment Tolkien's books so very well, it makes the stories even more epic.

I've always been a huge fan of your covers of Misty Mountains, and this does such amazing justice to the piece, including the absolutely incredible instrumental at the beginning. A very lovely holiday gift to us all, many thanks to thee Clamavi!

As someone that’s bought every version you’ve put out that i could, i just need you to know that i adore this version. I really enjoy the harmonizations here, and the enunciation of the words are far more crisp. You can tell how far you’ve come between the first version(s) and now. I look forward to being able to purchase this version when it’s available.

I need to pick up my jaw from the ground after this. I don't even know what to say, I can't think of any words to describe the greatness of this video. Cudos to you guys, I wish you even greater succes in the future, though with this video you probably reached the peak of this mountain. We need to find another one!

Can’t believe it’s been ten years since the hobbit trilogy and since you released the first misty mountains song. Crazy.

I was so surprised when y'all starting using the theme for the Dragon is Withered, then singing part of King Under the Mountain. Those pieces fit so well together, it was amazing! I do miss the Song of During being in the composition, but it does interrupt the flow a little bit (I would love to see you remake that as a solo though). I discovered you a few years ago during a pivotal moment in my life, and I have been in love with your music since. The song that brought me here was your twenty minute cover of Misty Mountains Cold, so seeing your remaster was a real treat. Keep up the great scores!

I have good news for you -- they already released a standalone full version of the Song of Durin.😉
@Zilla195411 ай бұрын
@@LibertyGryphon Yes, I love that version. I was just wandering is they were going to do another ten-year anniversary remaster of that version eventually. That song is probably one of if not my absolute favorite of Clamavi de Profundis' works.
