Can the transcatheter approach be used for very leaky valve?

Does this mean we can use valve in valve epic plus tissue valve for mitral valve replacement through groin without open heart surgery? I have mitral valve replacement OHS 10 years ago using pig valve and planning the 2nd replacement. Thank you very much for sharing new technology.

Hi Isabel, Great question. The Epic Plus is a surgical valve replacement. To have a re-replacement without surgery, you would need to qualify for a transcatheter mitral valve replacement which required no incision to the chest but is currently in clinical trials. I have a leaky mitral valve, and tricuspid. they were moderate at one time but are now mild. I am symptomatic. BUT I was injured in Vietnam and the VA won't help me, very backwards thinking people. But they do send us to community for care. How do I get the VA to want to save my life?
