Love your work lads. Looking forward to the northern tour, the midfield is one area the ABs haven’t nailed down. What does a player like Billy Proctor have to do to get another shot? He played well on debut, is an out and out centre, and is proven at both Super and NPC level. He also already has a midfield partnership with Jordie Barrett.
@EdgarJnrJnr2 ай бұрын
To be honest with you no player gets picked for abs based off npc. Second yes proctor was good against Fiji but remember there’s a difference between Fiji and Ireland or France or England those are 50/50 games the experienced guys will play those there are too unpredictable for the new guys the only new guy who will play those is sititi
@rabbitss112 ай бұрын
definitely, Billy Proctor could be the key to a cohesive midfield, can't imagine why he's been overlooked
@Kiwi_Haydn2 ай бұрын
@@EdgarJnrJnr I get he probably won’t go in as a starter against those top teams, but when is his next opportunity? Surely he gets some decent minutes against Japan or Italy.
@nzhard12 ай бұрын
Billy Proctor has had a fantastic season. Hopefully, he'll get more opportunities on the Northern tour. I'd much prefer to see him at 12 than Jordie.
@EdgarJnrJnr2 ай бұрын
@Kiwi_Haydn yeah he'll get time against those. Remember, guys, it's not just about if a player is good, it's also about player combinations, does this player play well with the other, and it's also about if that player can play the style the coach wants.
@Jak3HxC2 ай бұрын
While some argued Mbonambi’s drop was instead the result of Jordie Barrett stripping the ball, the motion of Barrett’s hands does not reflect that, and World Rugby seemingly agree, with MacNeice to not feature in any plum fixtures in the upcoming window of internationals.

Love to see where the Irish men’s rugby is currently. Very exciting everytime we play them without the forgone conclusion of the All Blacks winning automatically. Great players, well coached with dedicated supporters. Looking forward to the test

It's good to see on our side of the world that less penalties are taken in the 40 and its more about attacking

I noticed some interesting performances from some of the loose forwards contending for AB jerseys. In the Taranaki v Waikato game I thought Jacobsen and Finau were huge, especially on defense and really showed why they are All Blacks. Conversely in the Wellington v Counties game I thought the young Wellington loosies really had the edge over Papali'i and Sotutu. You would expect 2 ABs in Papali'i and Sotutu to be more dominant. I think the game showed why Sotutu isn't in the ABs currently. Sotutu is great with the ball but simply doesn't do enough work on defense and really fails to put pressure on the opposition at the breakdown. When made Razor made the comment about loosies needing to work on both sides of the ball, this is what he meant. Sadly Sotutu only does the work (stands out) when his team has the ball. Papali'i the other Counties AB appears to have slipped down the pecking order in the ABs atm and this game shows why. Papali'i simply fringes to much, he primarily looks to be a support runner and doesn't really look to clear rucks often enough. He is also not focused anywhere near enough at the breakdown, something which is required for an international No7. To me it looked like Papali'i was shown up by Lakai. So for Waikato their AB loosies dominated and looked like ABs. For Counties their AB loosies were poor and didn't do the work particularly around the breakdown, and they got outplayed by the young Wellington loosies.

A bit harsh on Papali’i considering he wasn’t on the park!

Papalii didn't even play lmao. You guys are just blues biased. What about Hoskins and Papalii steam rolling Jacobson and Finau twice during super?
