This is an amazing machine and it is impressive that you actually manage to move it by pedals alone. However, it seems to be hard work and it is obviously very slow. Are you planning to build a lighter and faster version? Would that make gears a feasible addition, or would it still be too heavy? The seat arrangement seems to be a weak point. A bicycle seat-type arrangement should enable you to apply more power to the pedals. How fast can the mechanism go without putting too much stress on it? The feet seem to be another weak point, as they will probably wear out quickly. Rubber feet perhaps? And there should be ball bearings in every joint, to reduce friction and prevent wear. With lighter materials, a slimmed design, improved driver posture and improved transmission, I guess this machine could go significantly faster. And with an electric motor it might even reach decent speeds. It might even be a feasible design for a (light terrain) off-road vehicle.

Not everything has to do fast my friend, I can see him using this to run errands around town or to just have a nice relaxing ride around the neighborhood. Plus there's a chance the legs would get worn out or snap if it was motorized. But its still an impressive machine.

It’s really cool. But unfortunately, the operator has to expend a lot of leg work just to move the machine at an even slower pace. But that doesn’t mean it’s useless though. It could still work as a fun workout machine, and one that’s sure to grab attention - if that’s what you’d like.
@foxyloon
@foxyloon 2 жыл бұрын
That turned out quite well! Only modification I could think of would be to add a bigger sprocket or one from a mountain bike that can shift between gears. Seems like you're having to pedal at a pretty quick pace just to get it to move.
